Hunky rock legend Rick Springfield was cuffed, collared, and thrown into the pokey today because he skipped a mandatory court appearance last month!

Luckily, booking was a breeze and the seXXXy singer didn't stay behind bars very long!

Rick rolled out of the Lost Hills sheriff station and immediately updated his fans via Facebook!

Springfield tatted a hawk on his shoulder after he found one stuck in his chimney. He believes the bird of prey was his late pit bull/Great Dane mix, Ronnie's, spirit.

While country star Randy Travis sobered up in a Texas drunk tank after allegedly driving drunk and threatening cops, rock veteran Rick Springfield cut a deal with SoCal prosecutors and confessed to plead no contest to astonishingly similar crimes!

Back in May of 2011, Malibu coppers pulled Rick over and smelled some booze on his breath.

One thing lead to another, as it so often does, and suddenly the dude who sang Jessie's Girl was threatening to kill a police officer and his family!

Rick's mugshot brings all the boys to the yard, and he's like, "It's better than Nick's!"

When speaking about his recent DUI case, Rick Springfield had the following to say about his mugshot:

"I have seen my mug shot. It’s way better than Nick Nolte's. I’m thinking of going back, cause I liked the lighting so much, and doing a shoot."

Ha! We'll just assume you're joking around, Rick. While we give you credit for not smiling in your mugshot, there's NO WAY it compares to Nick Nolte's! His is a classic. It's the Citizen Kane of mugshots.

We haven't seen this much drama since Rick's General Hospital days!

Last week, we learned that Rick Springfield was being charged with two counts of DUI stemming from an arrest in Malibu last May.

Fortunately for Rick, they were only misdemeanor charges, and he faces a maximum of 6 months in jail and a $1,000 fine.

Guess that's STILL too much for him though, because today he pleaded not guilty to the DUI charges, even though he blew a .10 in the breath tests at the time of his arrest.

We can't imagine how Rick is going to get out of this one scot-free, but who knows? Maybe he'll get a judge who's a major fan of Jessie's Girl! Ha!
