Christopher Plummer is saddened by what's happened to Kevin Spacey… but not as sad about replacing the disgraced actor in Ridley Scott's film All the Money in the World.

Weeks after multiple men came forward accusing Spacey of sexual misconduct over the years, Scott announced he would be re-shooting several scenes in order to cut out the House of Cards star from the upcoming hostage-thriller.

While Plummer has valiantly accepted his duty to replace Spacey in the film, the 87-year-old is still reeling from the Tony-winner's fall from grace as accusations continue to pour out. Although maybe he should be reeling more for the alleged victims…

Speaking to Vanity Fair at the premiere of The Man Who Invented Christmas on Sunday, Plummer said of the scandal:

Sigourney Weaver Wasn't Supposed To Survive The First Alien! (And Other Alternate Endings That Will Rip Your Head Off!)

The ending of the first Alien is one of the most iconic in cinema. Ripley, already undressed for cryosleep, is forced to face off against the xenomorph one last time, using only her wits to knock the apex predator out of her escape shuttle.

It gave us one of the most badass women ever seen on film and turned Sigourney Weaver into a bona fide movie star.

But in a new EW interview promoting the May 19 release of Alien: Covenant, director Ridley Scott confirms a rumor that he wanted to kill off Ripley! He explains:

"I thought that the alien should come in, and Ripley harpoons it and it makes no difference, so it slams through her mask and rips her head off."

That would have been a travesty; but what he wanted to happen next would have just been RIDICULOUS.

He wanted to end the movie with the ALIEN pressing buttons and then saying, mimicking the captain from earlier, "I'm signing off." WTF??

Luckily, this was a case where studio execs SAVED the film, threatening to fire Scott if he didn't come to his senses.

If you thought THAT ending would have changed everything, just check out some of these other amazingly different alternatives…

9 Actresses Who Landed Big Movie Roles Originally Written For Men!

no title

They ain't here to play no love interest!

It's no secret that men get the lion's share of meaty roles in Hollywood, but the good old gender swap was a studio solution long before the Ghostbusters reboot came along!

Sigourney Weaver's unforgettable portrayal of Ellen Ripley in Alien is widely considered one of the best film heroes of all time, but the badass heroine was originally written as the standard male action hero before director Ridley Scott decided to switch the gender to enhance the story!

Of course, Ripley isn't the only character to get the gender flip in the development stage.

Believe it or not, Angelina Jolie's super-spy role in Salt was originally supposed to be played by Tom Cruise, and Sandra Bullock's political strategist in Our Brand is Crisis was taken from George Clooney's hands!

Find out what other famous actresses landed starring roles originally written for men (below)!
