Ringo Starr Dave Stewart Hole In The Fence

A Beatle and a Eurythmic walk into a bar… and pitch a coming-of-age musical to a major studio??

We didn't see that one coming!!

Paramount commissioned rock legends Ringo Starr and Dave Stewart to create and help produce Hole in the Fence, a coming-of-age musical drama about young Brits from a poor mining town who find hope and salvation through rock ‘n’ roll.

Hmmm. That sounds

Ringo Starr Dedicates Anti-Gun Statue He Designed To John Lennon

Imagine gun pic

Since one of his best friends and bandmates, John Lennon, met his untimely end thanks to gun violence, it's no surprise that Ringo Starr is such a passionate advocate of anti-gun violence.

In honor of the Non-Violence Project Foundation, the former Beatles drummer unveiled a knotted gun statue he designed on the 31st anniversary of Lennon's death.

He asked for "peace and love" while advocating stricter weapons laws in London, saying:

“If you are caught with a gun it should be a higher sentence. Guns are just becoming more and more. They’re like the death of choice. So we hope that young people will stop. I can’t stand up and dictate to the world: ‘it’s over — no more guns.’ I can just do what I do, and there’s another side to the story which is peace and love.”

Speaking about the tragic day Lennon lost his life, Ringo said:

“They called and said, ‘John’s been killed. He’s been shot and he’s dead'…It was a bad day. But it was a bad day because someone took one of these and shot John.”

Ugh! Such a shame that incidents like that ever happened and continue to happen, so we totally support Ringo's efforts!

Will Johnny Depp Star In Beatles Biopic?

Johnny Depp The Beatles longest cocktail party biopic film

They're the greatest pop/rock band in music history, yet somehow there haven't been a whole lot of films about The Beatles. No, Across the Universe does not count.

But that's about to change as Michael Winterbottom takes the helm of The Longest Cocktail Party. The film, which is based on the Richard DiLello book, showcases the most crucial moments in the band's career between 1967 and 1970.

Michael is also set to produce it with Andrew Eaton. But the whole project was given birth by the original producer and Oasis front-man Liam Gallagher. It was his idea to turn the book into a movie, and it is also his idea to cast Johnny Depp as Derek Taylor, the band's publicist.

Unfortunately, Andrew is feeling some creative differences there. He's not sure Johnny would be the best fit for the role, saying:

The Beatles Refused To Play For Segregated Audiences!!!

The Beatles Refused To Play For Segregated Audiences Love Peace Equal Rights Imagine

Wow, these guys just keep getting better and better!

Recently revealed to public knowledge, The Beatles absolutely refused to play for bigots discrimination.

The four legends put it in legal writing to never play for segregated audiences in their 1965 and '66 tours.

Back then, this was a big deal. But The Beatles were never a stranger to activism, especially John Lennon, who penned:

Martin Scorsese Documents George Harrison's Life

Martin Scorsese George Harrison Doc

We all know about John Lennon. He was the rebellious, say whats on your mind leader.

Paul McCartney was the poetic, pretty one.

And Ringo Starr? Crazy drummer.

But what about George Harrison? The quiet one. What do most people know about him?

He didn't make headlines as much as the other Beatles did, but that didn't mean his talent or intrigue was any less remarkable.

Martin Scorsese knows that, and that's why he's been working on a film project with Harrison's widow for HBO.

The two parter, which airs on

Robert Zemeckis Is Moving Forward With Yellow Subma-remake

robert zemeckis moving forward with yellow submarine remake

At a Back To The Future red carpet event, Robert Zemeckis said that his Yellow Submarine remake was "all ahead full," which sounds like an indicator that he's moving forward with the movie.

While none of this is 100% confirmed, it looks like the movie will be shot in 3D, and the rumored cast is as follows:

-Dean Lennox Kelly (as John Lennon)

-Peter Serafinowicz (as Paul McCartney)

-Cary Elwes (as George Harrison)

-Adam Campbell (as Ringo Starr)

There have been mixed reports about whether or not this movie will actually happen, but given the fact that Zemeckis said the movie was happening so recently, we're inclined to believe it.

We have VERY mixed feelings about this project.

Are U excited about this project? Or do U think it's sacrilegious to remake a movie like this?
