It's almost like someone used that flashy-thing device from Men In Black and erased Rip Torn's memory of being an accomplished, respected actor.

Today, Rip pled guilty to reckless endangerment, as well as criminal mischief, criminal endangerment, AND carrying a firearm after being arrested nearly a year ago for breaking into a Connecticut bank, while drunk and armed.

We're thinking the fact that he's 79 years old helped him dodge jail time, as he was instead given three years of probation, during which time he can't carry firearms, and he'll be randomly tested for drugs and alcohol.

Hopefully Rip won't feel TOO tempted to have a drink and pick up one of the many futuristic firearms that he'll be surrounded by on the set of Men In Black III.

And yes, they're bringing him back for MIB 3.

FUN FACT: When Frasier alum Kelsey Grammer was his girlfriend’s age, she was 3 years old.

Grammer’s girlfriend, Kayte Walsh, is pregnant with his fifth child, and her family is being very supportive. Here’s what Kayte’s father had to say about her pregnancy:

"It's great news and we are very pleased for them both. I don't know how long they have been together and I have not met him yet, but I'm looking forward to it. We just found out about her pregnancy a couple of days ago."

And more from Mr. Walsh:

"The main thing is for them both to be happy and they are – they have just hit it off together."

It’s a bit bizarre that you’re so supportive of your daughter being pregnant by a man you’ve never met, Mr. Walsh…but then again, the man WAS in Down Periscope with Rip Torn. If that doesn’t qualify him as a wonderful future son-in-law, then we don’t know what does!

Eh, they should have let him have it. The man is banging hard on death's door. What's prison gonna do him?

This morning, Rip Torn and his reps respectfully asked a Connecticut judge for admittance for Rip into a special probation program that would have cleared his name from all the charges he faces. (Remember? He broke into a bank, drunk, with a gun and told everyone that was his house.)

The judge said no way!

Because the charges are so serious and Rip has a history of alcohol abuse, the judge denied his request, meaning the case will go to trial. Rip could get a mandatory minimum 1-year prison sentence should he be found guilty.

Seriously, the man is senile. Just put him in a nice nursing home with some oatmeal and reruns of Ghost Whisperer and we bet you'll never hear a peep from him again!

Oh my, Rip Torn! We had almost forgotten about all of your batshit crazy shenanigans back in January!

The trainwreck actor is expected to be in court today to attend a hearing regarding his January arrest for attempted burglary, and apparently he wants to request an accelerated rehab program that erases charges upon completion. This would serve as his probation.

Sources claim that prosecutors will be opposing this plan! Inneresting!

We think that if he was crazy or intoxicated enough to walk into someone's house that he confused for a bank with a weapon and a plan to rob, he's probably going to need a little more than effing rehab!

Just saying!

Charges were dropped against 30 Rock actor, Rip Torn, who was arrested in January after allegedly breaking into a bank (thinking it was his own home) "while drunk and carrying a loaded weapon."

But only the burglary charges have been dropped. The actor still faces consequences related to his possession of a firearm without a permit, criminal mischief and trespassing charges.

Torn and his lawyer, Thomas Waterfall, believe the charges could be dropped if he undergoes accelerated rehabilitation along with probation.

Looks like one less person to keep Lindsanity company in the slammer!

Yesterday, a judge dismissed the drunken-driving charges against Rip Torn after it was proven he completed the court-ordered alcohol education program.

By completing the program and showing progress, the actor was given the chance to clear his record.

See how simple that was, Lindsay???

The court-mandated classes were ordered after Rip was arrested for drunk driving near his home back in 2008. Though those charges have been dropped, Rip does have another case pending.

Remember when he drunkenly stumbled into a bank with a gun thinking it was his own house? Yeah, he still has to figure that one out. He'll be back in court on Tuesday.

We imagine they won't do too much to him. The man is pushing the hard side of 80. Take away his license and call it a day!

Remember a few months ago when Rip Torn got obliterated, walked into a bank, allegedly thought it was his house and brought a long with him a loaded gun?

Today, he stood before a judge and pled not guilty to charges of criminal trespass, carrying a gun without a permit, carrying a gun while intoxicated, burglary and criminal mischief.

Even if your story holds up, Rip, you are still guilty of at least one of those things! Hope that doesn't come back later to bite you in the ass!

Rip was granted the privilege of remaining out of jail on bail and his lawyer assured the court that Rip was in rehab getting all fixed up.

Ah, no sense throwing an old drunk in jail! Just fine him a bunch, take away his gun and get him a hard candy. That should fix everything!
