Is the OG nanny coming back to the big screen!?

Disney hasn't been shy with announcing which of their beloved films will be getting the remake treatment — but this one took us by surprise!

It's been reported that the House Of Mouse is making a live-action musical remake of Mary Poppins!

The studio is currently developing the project with Chicago director Rob Marshall, who also worked on the 2014 Disney musical feature Into The Woods! The film will feature original songs from the Hairspray songwriting duo Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman!

Most of the plot is still under wraps, but according to inside sources it will take place in Depression-era London, about 20 years after the 1964 classic, and will contain elements from other Poppins stories from the book series of author P.L. Travers' (who was played by Emma Thompson in 2013's Saving Mr. Banks!)

We already have so many questions!

Who will play everyone's favorite flying nanny!? Will they shorten "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" for time restraints?

And, most importantly, will Julie Andrews make a cameo? Only time will tell!

Wes Anderson Has A Grand Night At The Golden Globes As The Grand Budapest Hotel Wins Best Motion Picture For A Comedy!

Talk about an upset!

Despite being a rather famous director, Wes Anderson just won his first ever Golden Globe on Sunday!

The Grand Budapest Hotel won one of the highest honors of the night by taking the award for Best Motion Picture — Comedy or Musical.

In order to win, the film beat out Birdman by Alejandro González Iñárritu, Into the Woods by Rob Marshall, Pride by Matthew Warchus, and St. Vincent by Theodore Melfi.

Who knows? Maybe this will be a precursor of what's to come at this year's Academy Awards.

Congratulations again to everyone involved!

Johnny Depp Thin Man

It looks like the Johnny Depp vehicle The Thin Man might not be a good fit for Warner Bros right now.

Rob Marshall was set to direct the remake of the 1934 classic, but word is he’s going Into The Woods for his next project.

No word from Warner on any problems with

Chicago's Rob Marshall to Direct Into The Woods Film Adaptation For Disney!

The musical theater lover inside us is doing a giddy little happy dance!

Rob Marshall is no stranger to working with the House of Mouse. This is the guy behind the last chapter of Pirates of The Caribbean and their version of Annie. But now, things are about to get a whole lot more interesting for Rob as he has signed a two year contract with the company that not only lines him up to possibly direct the next Pirates venture, but also has led to a pretty incredible announcement.

Rob's first project under this new contract will be to direct a film adaptation of Into the Woods, the classic Stephen Sondheim musical about the real stories behind some famous fairytale characters. Rob reveals that the idea to make the Broadway fave into a film came to him while he was still working on Pirates. It instantly rang James Lapine, Sondheim's partner, to throw the idea around. Rob explains that bringing the project to Disney was spawned after James was concerned the project would just stay in "development for another 10 years." Such was not the case with Disney, as Rob explains:

Johnny Depp Has An Exciting New Movie Project On Deck!

Johnny Depp The Thin Man

The flawless actor has hired David Koepp to write the screenplay for The Thin Man.

David, who wrote Jurassic Park and Spider-Man, is sure to adapt this story into movie gold.

Director Rob Marshall has been brought on board as well.

As Johnny Depp will produce and star in the film, this project reunites the two who both worked on Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

Wanna know what the story's like?

Well, if you've read any of the classic books, you already know, but if not, it centers around a murder-mystery solving married couple — Nick and Nora Charles.

Johnny will of course play Nick, but nobody knows who Nora will be…

Hmmm, maybe Olivia Wilde? We could see that.

Johnny Depp Will Be Rob Marshall's Thin Man

They've done such great work together on the Pirates movies, we're excited to hear they are collaborating again.

Warner Bros. confirmed this morning that they will be reuniting director Rob Marshall with his swashbuckling superstar, Johnny Depp, for a remake of the 1934 film, The Thin Man. In the flick, Depp will play lead Nick Charles, a private detective married to a wealthy socialite, Nora, who also works along side him solving cases.

A comedy-mystery, eh? That's sounds rather fun, actually! Johnny is a very funny guy and he really isn't given enough opportunities to show that!

Someone who is just as excited as us (perhaps more so) that the film is forging ahead is Rob himself. In a statement about the film, he explained:

“John [Deluca, producer] and I are overjoyed at the idea of working with Johnny again, especially on such a classy and classic project. We are also thrilled to be partnering this time with such wonderful producers as Christi Dembroski and Kevin McCormick, and we are looking forward to working with Warner Bros. to create a reinvention of a beloved story.”

Sounds like it's going to be quite a project - but who will play Nora, we wonder???

She's got to be a beauty, for sure, but also someone with a lot of wit and charm.

Any suggestions?

What a lovely gesture!

Yesterday, legendary actress Sophia Loren was honored by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Hollywood with a tribute ceremony, after having also received a lifetime achievement Oscar back in 1991.

Here's what Sophia had to say while at the Academy's tribute ceremony for the actress:

"The Academy Award changed my life completely. It helped me to believe in myself and encouraged me to push my own artistic boundaries."

"There are no words to describe my emotions right now. It is hard to imagine that 50 years have passed since I welcomed my Oscar to my home."

Speeches at the ceremony were given by Tom Hanks, Sophia's Nine director Rob Marshall, and her son Edoardo Ponti who said the following about his mother:

"We are here because we love you and you deserve every single thing."

So sweet. She's accomplished SO MUCH and looks A-MAZING at 76 years old!!!

Congratulations, Sophia! We're very happy for you!
