Earlier this month we introduced you to the Phrobi,
the Snuggie ripoff the robe with a hoodie.
And while their product website states you can wear the Phrobi to places like a bar or even out on a first date, we didn’t really think anyone would step outside the house wearing one.
But then came Snooki.
The pint-size reality TV star recently got one for her birthday and has now been wearing it out around NYC. Snooki Tweeted the photo above and wrote:
"@Ryder__ just got me an early birthday gift. Love my @phrobi, keeping me warm tonight!"
And in what seems like an endorsement ad, a “source” claims that Snookie “plans on wearing her Phrobi to snuggle with her new man and her new puppy." Adding that:
"She hates being cold and loves wearing her fluffy jacket. Her favorite one is the camel colored; she feels it's the most chic. She's been wearing it around the city and wore it to prepare for her birthday party over the weekend, dress fittings etc. It's her new favorite piece of clothing."
We’re not sure Phrobi can afford to hire Snooks as their spokesmodel, but maybe for a few more camel colored robes she’ll keep Tweeting about it.
Seems like another lookalike has just hit the market.
The Phrobi is introducing a new type of blanket calling itself “The Ultimate Cozy Blanket Robe That Keeps You Warm From Head To Toe And Has Your Back!”
Unlike the traditional Snuggie which doesn’t wrap around your body, the Phrobi acts like a robe, covering you entirely.
It also includes a hoodie to keep your head warm and buttons near your neck as well as deep pockets for your personal items and a plush polar fleece fabric which makes it easy to clean.
However, the company is going a bit overboard by thinking you could wear this to a bar or even on a first date.
According to their site:
“Because it's stylish, you can also wear it out to many occasions such as dance parties, sporting events, boating excursions, evening bbqs, music festivals, camping, beaches at night, first dates, bar hopping, walking to class on college campuses, dropping your kids off to school, rooftop gatherings, you name it!”
Ladies, if a guy shows up to your door wearing a Phrobi on the first date, please run!
But overall, we’re liking the design and the added hoodie. Might be worth a try.
