The Iron Man 3 star was spotted heading out for a little sojourn with his fam in Beverly Hills on Sunday.

All that and inventing 42 different suits of armor?? What a busy guy! Someone is getting his vitamins and minerals! Mostly iron! LOLz!

Robert Downey Jr. is full of surprises!

First he shocks a Moscow fan convention by showing up unannounced! Now he's doing it closer to home- NYC!

The superhero made a drop-in at special screening of Iron Man 3 held for kids and teens that volunteered with the Police Athletic League during Hurricane Sandy!

The appearance was especially meaningful for RDJ, who grew up in NYC. He said:

With Iron Man 3 currently shooting, Robert Downey Jr.'s appearance at Comic-Con 2012 wasn't exactly shocking!

What was surprising, however, is that RDJ materialized in a room full of screaming little superhero lovers in the midst of their own Iron Man costume contest!!

He's got a super awesome movie coming out, PLUS his baby is one of the most adorable things we've ever seen.

The audience pleaded and begged, but FINALLY, Mr. Iron Man himself gave in and introduced the world to little Exton Elias.

We can tell he's going to be an Avenger one day, just like his poppa!

We're shocked that Robert Downey Jr. was so terrified about parenthood before his son Exton Elias was born this past February.

He does have an older son Indio, who's now 18, so being a father a second time around should come pretty natural to him.

Turns it, it doesn't.

Even though he says that "anticipation" and "fear" are normal parts of becoming a parent, he has other concerns too.
