The Wachowskis Reimagine Robin Hood

Although they've just been confirmed for Cloud Atlas with Halle Berry, Andy and Lana Wachowski will return to Warner Bros. to direct Hood, a modern version of the Robin Hood myth.

We've seen so many retellings of this story, but the Wachowskis wrote the script! It's rumored that they are reaching out to actors (including Will Smith) to star in the project.

Epicness! James Cameron In Talks To Direct Angelina Jolie In Cleopatra

james cameron in talks to direct angelina jolie in new cleopatra film

We would love to see this combination! Although would they do this in 3D?

Sources have confirmed that Avatar and Titanic director James Cameron is currently in early talks with Sony Pictures about the possibility of directing Angelina Jolie in Cleopatra.

The script is based on Stacy Schiff's book Cleopatra: A Life, and it's being written by Brian Helgeland, whose last epic feature script was Russell Crowe's Robin Hood.

The film is being produced by Scott Rudin, who recently produced everything The Social Network.

Quite the team behind this one! We'll be keeping our ears open for updates.

How do U feel about the possibly of James Cameron directing Cleopatra? Do U think he could make this better than Avatar?

Nick Cave To Bring Coolness To Crow Remake

You know you’re cool when you collaborate with Brad Pitt on a project and YOU’RE the reason it was a cool movie.

Nick Cave composed the terrific score to Pitt’s The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford. Cool.

Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds (his band) made the infinitely listenable album Dig!!! Lazarus Dig!!! Cooler.

And now, Nick Cave is rewriting the remake of The Crow. Coolest.

Cave, who was recently hired to rewrite director Stephen Norrington’s Crow script, has been approached before to work on large scale screenwriting projects.

A little while back, boring swashbuckling Robin Hood alumni Russell Crowe asked Cave to write a Gladiator sequel. That would have been extraordifantastically cool.

Crack open that laptop and get writing, Mr. Cave. Dazzle us some more with your coolness.

Robin Hood Politically Incorrect?

Uh-oh! Universal may have made a $225 million boo-boo.

Yesterday, Russell Crowe's newest flick, Robin Hood, hit the Cannes Film Festival. As one of the opening films, the studio was ready to welcome a warm reception from the media and glowing reviews from attendees.

Yeah, not so much, at least not from the press overseas.

While domestically the film will probably do fairly well, across the pond there are those who are majorly pissed. Sources say that members of the French media were simply outraged and almost hostile after seeing how Ridley Scott portrayed their people. Apparently, at best, the French characters could be called "Gallic Keystone Kops."

That's really bad. Only frat boys and homeless people drink Keystone!

Then there was the London press, which not only called the film “horribly long … serious to a fault … a dull movie of the kind that doesn’t pay emotional dividends,” but also took a shot at Russell's acting chops saying, “Playing Robin with all the mumbling machismo he can muster, there are times when watching him is as fun as a visit from the tax inspector."

Ouch! That one's gotta sting!

There is a lot of money riding on this thing, so Universal better hope America steps it up on the flick's opening weekend and that French & English people don't read the papers.

Otherwise someone is in BIG trouble!
