So much for Clive Owen!

While the Children of Men actor WAS in talks to replace Hugh Laurie in the RoboCop reboot, the action movie's director has confirmed that Michael Keaton has the job.

The former Batman star will play the villainous CEO of Omnicorp, the defense company which creates and then tries to destroy one of our favorite robotic protagonists of all time. Director Jose Padhila made the announcement by saying:

RoboCop rebooted a man into a machine.

Then Hollywood decided to reboot RoboCop.

Now they're rebooting the cast.

Clive Owen is in talks to replace Hugh Laurie as the corrupt CEO (as opposed to a benevolent CEO?) of Omnicorp, the technology corporation that creates Robocop.

Clive would join Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson, Abbie Cornish, and The Killing's Joel Kinnaman in the wasteland that is current future Detroit.

The half man, half machine, all cop is expected to hit theaters in August 2013.

Hollywood just can't stay out of the 80s!

For those of you who fell in with RoboCop in 1987, think again before you quickly call this reboot a knock-off.

The new man inside the suit, Joel Kinnaman says he's a super fan of the original and wants to do it justice but he also revealed new deets on the 2013 version.

For starters, RoboCop will have a battle with his humanity. Kinnaman states that the new flick will tackle Alex Murphy's existential issues within his world. Plus, his visor will be see-through, so viewers can see his eyes.
