Marcus Mitchell and Steve White of Armdeonce Ventures are currently seeking out private donors to help them build a monument for Beyonce in Houston, Texas…and we're hearing that the city is supporting them!

Okay, so U won't ACTUALLY see RoboCop in the next Star Trek movie…but U WILL see the actor who plays him!

We've just learned that Peter Weller, who played Alex Murphy/RoboCop in the classic action flick, will be joining JJ Abrams' Star Trek sequel in an as-of-yet-unidentified role.

Sorry for getting UR hopes up, Detroit, but it should still be exciting to see the RoboActor doing his thing with Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, and hopefully Benicio Del Toro as well!

Detroit residents may never get that bizarre statue they were asking for last Feburary, and they may not be able to avoid Nickelback's appearance at their Thanksgiving…BUT they will get a new movie about their favorite local robohero!

Last we heard about the RoboCop reboot, newcomer Josh Zetumer had signed on to write the script for the reboot of the classic 80s flick!

Now, Brazilian director Jose Padilha has opened up about the upcoming robomovie! Here's what he had to say about it:

They would have DEFINITELY won Best Picture if they had kept the original version of this film!

Check out the video (above) in which Darren Aronofsky and Todd Barry open up about Black Swan, and how it was initially going to be a film about the minor deli manager character from The Wrestler.

After seeing Todd Barry's performance in The Wrestler, as well as his minor-but-crucial performances in New York City Serenade and Pootie Tang, we can definitely say that he would have gotten Darren plenty of Oscars!

…What? You didn't see any of those movies? You think Black Swan was good with Natalie Portman and the whole "ballet plot?"

To each their own, we suppose! We want to see the full length version of The Deli Manager! Come on Darren! If you're not gonna do RoboCop or The Wolverine, you could AT LEAST do this!

Last month, RoboCop news was all the rage…especially in Detroit!

First, we heard that Detroit residents wanted a RoboCop statue, THEN we heard that a roboreboot of the original film was in the works again, and NOW we're hearing that progress on the film is being made and a writer has been hired!

MGM has brought on newcomer Josh Zetumer to write the script, who will work with Brazilian director Darren Aronofsky Jose Padilha on the film.

Exciting news for RoboCop fans everywhere!

Sure, we'd prefer to see more original movies getting made instead of all these reboots….but maybe after this gets made, they'll finally erect that RoboCop statue in Detroit!

For some reason, we want to see that happen! LOLz.

Yesterday, we heard the heartwarming tale of Detroit residents and their efforts to raise money to get a RoboCop statue erected.

Detroit Mayor Dave Bing may not be giving the O-K for the statue, but at least the half-human/half-robot will return in some form, now that MGM HAS given the O-K on the long-delayed RoboCop reboot!

Other remakes/reboots in the works at MGM include new versions of Mr. Mom, The Idolmaker, and Poltergeist.

Come on, Bing! How can you pass on the statue NOW? RoboCop is about to become a HUGE deal once again! This is a PERFECT time to build that statue!

Just sayin'!
