Roger Ebert's Annual Movie Festival Will Proceed This Month As Planned!

roger ebert ebertfest film festival posthumus 15th annual

As the fearless film critic would likely say were he still alive, "the show must go on!"

Roger Ebert died yesterday, succumbing to complications from cancer, but his rich legacy lives on.

For the 15th year in a row, cinephiles and superstars alike will flock to Illinois to share their love of great movies at Ebertfest. The April 17-21 film festival won't be the same, obviously, without the presence of the legendary critic, but he will be there in spirit!

Plenty of celebz will be there, too!

The world lost an amazing human being Thursday when Roger Ebert passed away, and whether or not you agreed or even liked his signature style of film critique, he was undeniably a larger than life, kind human being who inspired many throughout his lifetime.

Roger's partner-in-critique, Richard Roeper, appeared on Anderson 360 Thursday evening to talk to Anderson Cooper about his late friend, stating that the native Chicagoan had an "everyman quality."

Watch the sweet, sad interview (above)!

There will never be another film enthusiast quite like Roger…

How will we know which movies to watch/avoid without the presence of his famous thumbs?!

Oh we jest, but only to break the tension of what is otherwise a very sad occasion.

You will be sorely missed, Roger! We hope your spirit rests in peace!
