Last night, Sophie's Choice co-stars Kevin Kline and Meryl Streep were reunited due to the call of Shakespeare, as they took on the title roles in a one-night-only benefit reading of Romeo + Juliet, in honor of the 50th Anniversary of the opening of the Delacorte Theater in Central Park!

Remnants of the lost Curtain Theatre - one of the first sites believed to be where William Shakespeare’s work was featured, hath been discovered ‘neath East London’s streets!

The venue was de-constructed in the 17th century, and is thought to have been where Shake-a-speare’s famed Romeo and Juliet and Henry V were first performed…

If you are not familiar with Sir Shakespeare, then we beseech thou! Prithee pick up a book and get edumacated!

While Donna Murphy and Amy Adams are getting Into The Woods at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park, looks like two other big name actors will soon be heading to the park as well!

For the 50th Anniversary of Shakespeare in the Park, the legendary Meryl Streep and Kevin Kline will be reuniting in Romeo And Juliet!!

The former Sophie’s Choice costars will play Romeo and Juliet in the park for one night only on June 18!

Ed Westwick, Holly Hunter, Hailee Steinfield have already signed on to the upcoming Carlo Carlei-directed adaptation of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet - as Tybalt, the Nurse, and of course, the leading lady respectively - and now, sources close to production have learned that The Vampire Diaries' Paul Wesley will be also joining the cast as Count Paris, while Douglas Booth has nabbed the iconic male lead!

Hawt! Hawt! Hawt!

If we were Hailee, we'd have just as difficult time choosing between the two!

Unfortunately, we all know how that story ends! Ha!

But hey, looking forward to the eye candy along the way!

Look at you maturing as an actor, Mr. Westwick!

Back in January, we heard that Gossip Girl & S. Darko star Ed Westwick had signed on for a role in Clint Eastwood's J. Edgar. Now, he's getting his Shakespeare on in Romeo & Juliet!

As we already know, True Grit's Hailee Steinfeld will play Juliet, and now Westwick has been cast as Tybalt in Carlo Carlie's adaptation of Shakespeare's immortal tale.

We've also learned that Holly Hunter has been cast as The Nurse, but still no word on who will play Romeo this time around.

We suppose Leonardo DiCaprio is a bit too old for the part now, huh? LOLz.

Honestly, if we really work our brains, we can not think of a more appropriate person than Hailee Steinfeld to play the iconic Juliet in the upcoming Romeo & Juliet project from Carlo Carlei!

She's age appropriate given the source material (14, crazy, right?) and she gave a near flawless performance in last year's True Grit that earned her an Oscar nod. So she's definitely got the talent to fuel her portrayal!

Here's a bit about it:

The film will finally begin shooting later this spring in Italy, with age-appropriate 14-year-old Steinfeld playing Juliet, one half of a young couple whose forbidden romance leads to tragedy for both their warring families. Carlei has said the film will be set in classic Shakespearan era and will bring the iconic characters to life for a new generation that doesn’t have its own version yet.

We don't have our own version?? Gnomeo & Juliet, anyone??

But in all seriousness, we think this is a fantastic decision!

Congrats, Hailee! We know you'll be fab and we can't wait to see what your career holds in store!!

Moulin Rouge! director Baz Luhrmann is ready to return to the director's chair…for an episode of Glee!

Luhrmann has admitted that he's a Glee fan, and he's spoken with show creator Ryan Murphy about directing an episode.

Here's what Luhrmann has said about it:

"I'm a great fan of Glee. I spoke to Ryan. I tried to find a moment to do an (episode) with him. I'd love to do that. I think those kids are phenomenal. Just to do that every week, the discipline."

More from Baz:

"When I made Moulin Rouge! it was like, 'You've got to be kidding, a musical with contemporary tracks, that will never work."

And more:

"So if I could (direct an episode), I'd love to… I'd like to contribute to that."

As long as we'll be getting an episode from the Romeo + Juliet/Moulin Rouge! Baz Luhrmann, then yes, we'd love to see this happen.

If the guy who directed Australia peeks his head out during this episode though…then we might have to reconsider.
