Man Who Shot Ronald Reagan To 'Impress' Jodie Foster Is Being Released After 35 Years!

no title

We never thought we'd see the day.

Many of our younger Perezcious readers may not be too familiar with this story, but the attempted assassination of President Ronald Reagan just had a new update 35 years later.

That's because according to a Washington, D.C. judge, shooter John Hinckley, Jr. is once again suited for society and will be released from his mental hospital effective Wednesday.

Apparently, Jodie Foster's stalker has already been spending 17 days per month living in his mother's Virginia home — so this won't be too much a change for the community — but now the 61-year-old will officially be free 100 percent of the time.

John was originally found not guilty for the shooting that injured four people on March 30, 1981 by reason of insanity — hard to argue against seeing as he said he did it to "impress" the Taxi Driver starlet — but doctors now believe he has been cured of his mental illness.

Pretty shocking considering it was the POTUS he shot!

Do U think John deserves to live freely after what he did??

Will Ferrell Cast As Dementia-Stricken President Ronald Reagan In Upcoming Comedy — And Someone In The Family Is VERY Upset About It!

no title

When it comes to casting actors to play non-fiction characters, the decisions can quite often be a bit controversial — especially when they're caricatures for a comedy!

Well it seems that Will Ferrell has joined the list of WTF castings, as it's been announced that the Saturday Night Live alum will be starring as former President Ronald Reagan in an upcoming comedy!

The film is simply titled Reagan and follows the former POTUS at the beginning of his second term as he falls into dementia. Wackiness ensues when an intern is given the job of convincing Reagan that he is an actor playing the president in a movie.

While it sounds like a pretty silly idea, we can also see how those that are affected by dementia or people who may have known the President personally might be offended.

Not surprisingly, that's exactly what happened as Ronald's son Michael Reagan took to Twitter to vent his frustration about the flick saying:

Why are we not surprised?

We were all totally heartbroken early last week when it was reported that former First Lady Nancy Reagan had passed away at the age of 94 due to congestive heart failure.

The actress-turned-politician's wife wasn't exactly known for encouraging public discourse when it came to taboo topics, which is why her daughter's latest claims aren't exactly shocking.

Apparently, back in the mid-1960s, a 17-year-old Patti Davis had an affair with her teacher… and it turns out that Nancy knew about it all along and didn't say a thing!

Patti, now 63 years old, wrote a letter in her mom's honor for the March 21 issue of TIME where she recounted the affair, saying:

Jane Fonda Commands In Chief As Nancy Reagan In New Clip From The Butler!

Jane Fonda is bringing back the 80s, all presidential style!

When pictures came out from the set of The Butler we couldn't believe what a spitting image Jane was of Nancy Reagan.

Now that a new scene has been released from the movie, we're even more certain that she's the closest thing to a Madame Tussaud's of the former first lady.

In an interview that adjoins the clip, the extremely liberal Jane Fonda talked about whether or not the actual conservative first lady had any problems with the casting decision:

“I happen to know that she’s not unhappy that I’m playing her.”

Well, we're equally so not unexcited (double negatives are so not, not confusing!) to see The Butler, which has more stars in it than the Milky Way galaxy plus times the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
