What an incredibly tough time for Rory and Joey Feek.
On Monday, Rory posted a seriously sad update about Joey's battle with stage four cervical cancer in which he revealed that his love has entered hospice care.
Not only have the husband and wife collaborated since 2008 as a country music duo, but they're also the parents to a little girl named Indiana, who was born in 2014 with down syndrome and the step-mom to Rory's two daughters, Hopie and Heidi.
The disappointing news doesn't come as much of a surprise considering the singer returned home from the hospital this past October after halting all chemotherapy treatments. Unfortunately, fans learned that Feek's cancer had spread from her cervix to her colon during this time.
While the news is devastating, Rory has revealed his wife is at peace with her inevitable passing and is taking this time to spend every minute with her daughter. Not only did the staff set up a playpen next to Joey's bed, but the mom is also recording audio books so Indiana will be able to hear her momma's voice forever.
The 49-year-old said of his wife's last wishes:
"Joey's hope is that our little one will be able to sit on my lap in days to come and turn pages and hear her mama reading to her."
Umm, does anyone have a spare tissue?
