As his homeland of Japan is still in dire need, Ryo Ishikawa has pledged to donate all his 2011 earnings to disaster relief funds set up to help the struggling country. He added that for every birdie he makes, he'll donate an extra 100,000 yen.
This means, if he wins the top prize at the Masters gold tournament, which equals $1 million, that's $1 million dollars going to straight to relief groups helping those in need in Japan. It's such a wonderful thing that Ryo is doing, but if you ask him, it's the least he can do. He says:
"That's one of the reasons why I decided to donate the entire earnings this year, so that I feel that I am with them and fighting with them side by side, although I will not be with them physically."
Well, obviously, now we hope he wins! We hope he wins it all! LOLZ!
