That's right, our beloved Britney Spears has officially turned 30, and not only did WE send her some lovely little birthday wishes via Twitter, writing:
The lawsuit involving David LaChapelleclaimingRihanna ripped off his work for her S&M video has survived its first test and is moving forward.
A New York federal judge found the themes in her video non-copyright material while the "angles, poses, and lighting" in David's photos are completely protected.
The judge also heard evidence that the storyboards used for her video actually contained his photographs.
Rihanna recently took the connotations behind her latest single, S&M, to a whole new level when she revealed that she likes to get a little more than frisky in her own private life, as well!
She explains:
"I live feeling like I'm somebody's girl. I love to be tied up and spanked. Using whips and chains is too planned…you have to stop and look for the whip. I prefer them to use their hands."
Unfortunately, she also goes on to explain that she thinks some of her more masochistic tendencies in the bedroom stem from the abuse she suffered as a child, at the hands of her father, which seriously bums us out!
But we think it's very brave of her to not only be so candid about it, but have enough of an understanding of herself to accept that her past is responsible in part to who is she is now.
And frankly, there's nothing wrong with having a little good, safe, consensual fun! It's nothing to be ashamed of, regardless of what it may stem from, so as long as you're comfortable, gurl, you do you!
Photographer David LaChapelle, claims Rihanna stole images in our her S&M video - and he's suing her over it!
In a lawsuit made public on Monday, the fashion photographer claims "the music video is directly derived from and substantially similar to the LaChapelle [his] works."
In the suit, LaChapelle said Rihanna had appropriated eight of his images into the video, such as a shot where she is shown in profile against a blue background with a piece of candy on her tongue.
LaChapelle says Rihanna's video copied the "composition, total concept, feel, tone, mood, theme, colors, props, settings, decors, wardrobe and lighting."
Kanye West may not have been having the best week - between the gay rumors, his latest temper tantrum, and a bruised up Lamborghini - but we have a feeling that with this weekend, all of that's about to change!
The sometimes-volatile yet supremely talented rapper has been hard at work recording his new album in Paris, and apparently, has few very creative, larger than life tricks up his sleeve for how he's going to begin its promotional campaign!
Which, of course, started last night, when he projected a video of himself performing his brand new single, New Slaves, onto the sides of 66 BUILDINGS LOCATED ALL OVER THE WORLD!
Ch-ch-check out to what the folks of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, were treated on the corner of Bedford and N. 7 (above)!
