Emma Stone’s sensational sweetheart, Andrew Garfield, recently made his feelings clear on the status of marriage equality.

And he’s all for it!!

In 2006, the man we now know and love as Spider-Man played a role in the production of Beautiful Thing, a gay-themed play. This play is being revived in West London, and The Times of London got a chance to talk to our favorite spidey hero about both the play and same-sex marriage.

He summarized his thoughts on marriage equality in a way only a superhero could, saying:

Dear New Zealand, YOU ROCK!!!

The land of the kiwis just became one of our new favorite places on the planet as it is set to become the latest country to legalize same-sex marriage!

Hundreds of supporters gathered in screening rooms to watch and celebrate as the historic Marriage Equality Bill was passed with 77 votes to 44!

Labour MP Louisa Wall (pictured above) was one of THE key figure behind the bill and had a short but sweet message after the HUGE victory:

“In our society the meaning of marriage is universal - it's a declaration of love and commitment to a special person.”

Preach sista!

As always, there were still people who opposed the legalization of same-sex marriage, but Customs Minister Maurice Williamson told the haters to chill out, saying:

The Republican national platform does not include support for same-sex marriage, so it takes a lot of guts to speak up for what you believe in sometimes!

But Illinois' stroke-surviving Senator Mark Kirk wasn't about to let peer pressure get in the way!!

Kirk has officially become the second member of the GOP to endorse same-sex marriage! And with one of the best quotes we've ever heard on the matter! He said:

Shockingly, there are still those out there that thing same-sex couples can't raise a child as well as opposite-sex couples!

Another win!!

In the ongoing battle to get equal rights for same-sex couples, one major step has been made.

The Department of Defense has announced they will be extending some benefits to same-sex couples in the military which was a final move made by Secretary Leon Panetta before he departs the Pentagon.

Way to leave on a high note!! We like LUV it!

So what benefits will same-sex couples now get?

They will have rights to joint

It’s a good day! And it looks like it really is getting better!

Dan Savage, creator of the It Gets Better campaign, celebrated Washington's legalization of same-sex marriage by getting a new license.

Dan and his husband, Terry Miller, were first married in 2005 in Vancouver, Canada.

But now, they are legally getting married stateside! YAY!

Dan and Terry were one of the first same-sex couples in King County to receive the marriage licenses.

One three steps closer to equality!!!

While President Obama spoke out in support of gay marriage back in May, he is now publicly endorsing same-sex marriage measures on ballots in THREE states!

Yesterday, the Prez issued statements through his campaign secretary in Washington state, Maryland and Maine, encouraging voters to approve of the gay marriage initiatives on their ballots!
