A San Francisco sea lion is going home…but it's not San Fran!

Blonde Bomber, a rescued sea lion made his way back to the ocean blue, after rescuers found him choking to death from a piece of plastic wrapped around his neck.

The deep gash is still visible on the cutie's neck, but after a swift recovery, the Marine Mammal Center was happy to bring Blonde Bomber back to where he belonged!

The San Francisco SPCA wants to do its part to help the thousands of homeless cats in need.

And they enlisted some help from Portlandia!

At the San Francisco Zoo, a 2-pound squirrel monkey was stolen when thieves cut two holes into the mesh of the squirrel monkey enclosure.

The zoo immediately sprung into action after the theft, starting a search and officially announcing:

"He is a valued member of the zoo, and we wish for a safe and speedy return."

The 17-year-old monkey was spotted by a random person in a San Fran area park. Police quickly reacted and brought the monkey back to the zoo, unharmed.

So far, they have no leads on who stole the monkey.

We're just glad that the monkey is safe and sound, back with all its buddies.

In California, researchers have found that birds in San Francisco Bay have slowly been getting bigger over the last 27 to 40 years.

This is strange because as climates get warmer, animals tend to shrink in size over the years.

The theory is that larger animals conserve body heat better.

In San Francisco a Board of Supervisors committee has approved a plan to save birds from smashing into building windows.

They plan to require buildings to have treated glass or other measures to keep the birds from banging into them.

Architects and developers are not too happy because of the added expenses they will incur.

A rep from the Golden Gate Audubon Society said:

"It's not about being a nanny state, it's about being responsible for the impacts we have on the environment.”

Way to step up and take responsibility, San Fran!
