Man Catches On Fire In Adult Video Store!

Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & True

We live in one crazy effing world, that's all we can even really think to say about this.

Check out this news footage from CBS San Francisco regarding an incident last night in which a man somehow CAUGHT FIRE while watching porn in a adult video store, and then proceeded to run out into the street, apparently engulfed in flames (above)!

According to police reports, it's unclear how the accident began, but "police said the man had been watching videos in a private booth when the blaze erupted." Soon after he collapsed on the street, an ambulance arrived and extinguished the fire.

He's since been hospitalized and is being treated for his injuries in a burn unit.

Thank goodness! But seriously - WTF?!

How the eff did it happen! The porn couldn't have been THAT hot!

Sorry. We couldn't resist! LOLz!

Gwyneth Paltrow's Favorite Restaurants

Gwyneth Paltrow's Favorite Restaurants

Gwyneth Paltrow has transformed herself into a tastemaker when it comes to all things food, which is why we are super intrigued about this restaurant list.

Hop on a plane and enjoy some fine dining! (list compiled by Food & Wine)

Elio's, New York City
"Gwyneth has been coming to this Upper East Side Italian spot for years; the waiters don'st even give her a menu. The restaurant's fried zucchini was the inspiration for her Fried-Zucchini Spaghetti."

Babbo, New York City
"Set in an old Greenwich Village carriage house, Babbo is the restaurant that launched Mario Batali's career. Gwyneth suggests getting small plates and a glass of wine at the bar if you can't get a reservation."

City House, Nashville
"This Nashville restaurant is known for its ingenious Italian-Southern hybrid dishes, like white bean soup with pecorino and corn-bread crumbs. Gwyneth suggests stopping by the bar to grab a drink from the stellar bartenders."

Tartine Bakery, San Francisco
"Chad Robertson's famous mission bakery attracts large crowds for its amazing array of baked goods: feathery croissants, fine-crumbed scones and crisp-crusted loaves. Gwyneth took inspiration from Robertson's cookbook Tartine Bread to make her own bread with natural leaven."

Gjelina, Los Angeles
"This Venice Beach pizzeria has tons of buzz for its thin-crusted pizzas. (Gwyneth's favorite pie is the jalapeño and smoked mozzarella.) But the vegetables, like wood-roasted cauliflower with garlic, vinegar and chile, are also excellent."

Chisou, London
"Gwyneth loves the simplicity of this elegant Japanese restaurant, but she steers away from the excellent sushi; instead, she goes for the light noodle soups and salads."

Tapas Brindisa, London
"Brindisa started as a Spanish food importer, which is how they get the amazing ingredients for their tapas bar at the Borough Market. Gwyneth says it's one of the best meals in town right now."

Tapaç24, Barcelona
"Comerç 24's Carles Abellan recently opened Tapaç24 that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Gwyneth spent time in Spain as a teenager and loves his take on traditional Spanish dishes like patatas bravas and croquetas with Ibérico ham."

Dar Marjana, Marrakech
"This restaurant is set in a riad—a traditional Moroccan home—around a beautiful green-and-white-tiled central courtyard. Gwyneth's emphatic recommendation: the pigeon pie."

Mariage Frères Teahouse, Paris
"When visiting Paris, Gwyneth comes here for its light lunch menu, with tea-inspired dishes like salmon with green matcha. She also loves its afternoon tea and stocking up on its candles; the Darjeeling-scented candle is a favorite."

They Did It! San Fransisco Bans The Happy Meal

San Fransisco Bans The Happy Meal

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors just served McDonald’s a super-sized sad meal with a side of health-conscious justice.

They passed an ordinance yesterday that will require meals to meet nutritional guidelines if restaurants want to include a toy with the food.

This is great! Kids don’t need to be scarfing down french fries and burgers, and this ordinance will help parents make sure that their children are eating healthy!

'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' Policy Is Reinstated.

Filed under: Icky Icky PooGay Gay GayLegal MattersPolitikLGBT

So incredibly disappointing.

A San Francisco federal appeals court has overturned Judge Virginia A. Phillips' injunction against 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell,' and has ruled that the military must keep the policy in place.

According to the 9th Circuit:

"a stay pending appeal would obviate the confusion and uncertainty that might be caused by temporary implementation of the district court's injunction, with the looming possibility that the statutory policy could be reinstated on appeal. Enjoining the operation of the statute before the appeal is concluded would create tremendous uncertainty about the status of servicemembers who may reveal their sexual orientation in reliance on the district court's decision and injunction."

They may have won the battle, but they have not won the war!

It's only a matter of time, people!
