Patricia Arquette Is 'Really Bummed' Her Late Sister & Trans Activist Alexis Arquette Was Left Out Of The Oscars In Memoriam
The Boyhood actress opened up to Vanity Fair about being happy to see an LGBT movie take home the biggest prize, but she was a little disappointed her transgender sister Alexis Arquette, who passed away back in September after complications from HIV, was notably left out of the ceremony's In Memoriam.
The 48-year-old said of Barry Jenkins' powerful film:
"[I was touched] this beautiful story about a gay kid in America in a world that doesn't accept gay people. I'm really bummed. For the in memoriam, they left out our sister Alexis, and she was trans."
As you may know, the late actress had about 70 acting credits under her belt — including The Wedding Singer, Pulp Fiction, Of Mice and Men, and Last Exit to Brooklyn.
