Patricia Arquette Is 'Really Bummed' Her Late Sister & Trans Activist Alexis Arquette Was Left Out Of The Oscars In Memoriam

Alexis Arquette and Patricia Arquette

Moonlight is the topic of everyone's conversations following that dramatic mess up for the Best Picture winner last night at the Oscars — but for Patricia Arquette, it brought up other emotions.

The Boyhood actress opened up to Vanity Fair about being happy to see an LGBT movie take home the biggest prize, but she was a little disappointed her transgender sister Alexis Arquette, who passed away back in September after complications from HIV, was notably left out of the ceremony's In Memoriam.

The 48-year-old said of Barry Jenkins' powerful film:

"[I was touched] this beautiful story about a gay kid in America in a world that doesn't accept gay people. I'm really bummed. For the in memoriam, they left out our sister Alexis, and she was trans."

The Oscars In Memoriam by videosuploaded5566

From Gene Wilder to Carrie Fisher — we still can't get over just how many stars we lost this past year.

And just like in the preceding award shows this season, the Oscars In Memoriam segment was far too tragically long.

Jennifer Aniston took to the stage to introduce the segment, getting choked up after mentioning the very recent death of Bill Paxton.

After Jen's emotional intro, Sara Bareilles took us through the heartbreaking video tribute by singing the ballad Both Sides, Now.

R.I.P. to all these unforgettably talented people. Watch the segment (above).

Leslie Jones' Hacking Case Is Headed By The FBI As Katy Perry, Octavia Spencer, & More Vocalize Their Support For The Ghostbusters Star!

celebs react to leslie jones hack

UPDATE 1:18 P.M. EST: TMZ reports the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has now taken over the case as it has the most sophisticated cyber-crime unit in the country, and Leslie supposedly has history with the Department stemming from a previous catfishing investigation. Some sources say the current hacker may be connected to a group in Japan.

Who ya gonna call? The FBI!

On Thursday, it was revealed that the FBI will be handling Leslie Jones' hacking case after hackers violated her private information by breaking into the actress' iCloud and cell phone. To make matters worse, the cyber stalker then posted nude photos of the 48-year-old on her website. Oof!

According to TMZ, federal agents are currently pulling together a strategy to track down the person (or people) who are responsible for violating the Ghostbusters star's privacy. Currently, it's unknown if the FBI's west coast or east coast offices are heading the case as the Saturday Night Live vet lives in both NYC and El Lay.

Don't fret though, as it's said this hunt is specifically a FBI investigation as neither the NYPD or LAPD have open cases about the hacking. We honestly feel so bad for Miz Jones, especially since this isn't the first time the funny lady's been targeted online.

Thankfully, many of Leslie's peers have since come to her defense on Twitter over this sad situation — including Katy Perry, Sara Bareilles, Octavia Spencer, Lena Dunham, and many more.

Be sure to take a look at their reactions for yourself (below)!
