Miranda Lambert isn't only a beautiful, talented country star… she's a compassionate animal rescuer too!

She just saved a puppy that was abandoned on an Oklahoma highway yesterday.

Miranda tweeted a pic (above) and said:

"I just picked this up on the west side of Tishomingo on hwy 22. Please contact Tish animal shelter if he is yours."

That is seriously one of the cutest puppies EVER!

He's so HUGE!!

Miranda continued:

"He was in the middle of the hwy with his food bowl and bed… If it wasn't an accident someone is really sick. I guess the pup is mine till I find him a little boy somewhere to live him!"

That's just awful! Who could give up such a cute lil guy?!

Well he's Miranda's for now! She even named him, saying:

"I'm calling him 'Pistol Andy' in honor of the @PistolAnnies record #annieup being announced today! lil Andy:)."

Pistol Andy… we like it!

Hope you and Andy are happy until you find him a good home!

A dog that saved the lives of two British soldiers in Afghanistan from a bomb is a finalist for Crufts 2013 - a organization that honors dogs who've displayed outstanding heroism and bravery.

The precious dog's name is Brit and was originally a stray before being adopted by two British soldiers. Brit eventually saved their lives by barking slash warning them of a nearby bomb.

The Taliban then captured the dog, but he was recovered by the British army.

A teacher in England read about Brit's story, and fought hard to bring the homeless pup home.

This 11 year old hero takes his big brother duties SERIOUSLY!!!! WE LUV IT!!!!

Maleik Carr and his five year old sister were walking to the bus stop when two unleashed pit bulls began to attack.

The boy told his sister to run and he fought the dogs, even using his sister's play chair to beat the dogs back!

The Price was Right for these chimps!

Bob Barker has given five monkeys a new home in the form of an Oklahoma sanctuary.

The former game show host dropped 200,000 clams on the primates, who were on the verge of being euthanized.

The monkeys were part of lab experiments, but the particular won't be revealed.

Congrats to the monkeys on their new lives!

World Bank has launched a new partnership to try and raise an astounding $1.5 BILLION for the world's oceans.

They aim to double marine protected areas and rebuild fish stocks.

The world's oceans are overfished, heavily polluted and increasingly warming.

None of these are good for the earth, climate change or any of earth's inhabitants. (That means people too).

This is so sad.

Normally, in the Cape Cod area, about 100 dolphins beach themselves every year.

But now for some mysterious reason, over 100 dolphins have beached themselves in just the past 3 weeks.

Rescuers are working tirelessly to try and save all the dolphins but sadly, they're fighting a losing battle.
