Close call for Russell Crowe!!!

This weekend, the Academy Award winner was kayaking with a friend off of the Cold Spring Harbor on the Long Island Sound when they got lost.

It was already nighttime, so they decided to head to shore until they could receive help - they were a whole ten miles from where they originally were supposed to land.

There was an Israeli man, Ben-Yehuda, who was climbing to the top of the mountain with a Sherpa guide when he came across a Turkish man, Aydin Irmak near the summit.

17-year-old Weston Masset is just thankful to be alive!

He's the teen McDreamy Patrick Dempsey saved after his car flipped and crashed on the actor's front lawn in Malibu.

After Patrick went into into Dr. Derek Shepard mode and rescued the teen from his overturned car using a crowbar, Weston is now speaking out about much of a gentleman the Grey's Anatomy actor truly is.

He not only pried the barely-conscious boy out of the car, but he also alerted paramedics and his mother. AND, he even called her later that night to get an update on his condition.

Weston admitted:

"He was there for me. It would have been a lot worse without him."
