New Deets On 3D Texas Chainsaw Massacre Movie!

new deets on texas chainsaw massacred 3d movie

Let's just hope they put more effort into this one than they did for Clash of the Titans Saw 3D

Back in November, we learned that a 3D Texas Chainsaw Massacre film, Leatherface 3D, was in the early stages of development.

Now, almost six months later, we've finally got some new deets on the project!

Here are the most recent updates about the upcoming 3d chainsaw-blood-fest:

- Takers director John Luessenhop is in talks to direct

- A third draft of the screenplay has been turned in by screenwriters Debra Sullivan, Adam Marcus, and Stephen Susco

- Writer Kristen Elms was hired to "re-tool" the screenplay

Hopefully they'll be able to get the screenplay right next time around!

After a five year break, we're thinking horror fans are ready for more Leatherface in their lives!

Are U excited for Leatherface to return to theaters in 3D? What horror movies are U looking forward to?

Massachusetts Theater Shows Saw 3D Instead Of Megamind

theater accidentally shows saw 3d instead of megamind

Okay, so theaters make mistakes. Sometimes the popcorn is stale. Sometimes the soda is flat. Sometimes a theater shows a preview for Jumanji when you're about to watch Jumanji. These things are forgivable.

This Is NOT forgivable but it is HIGHlarious!

At Showcase Cinemas in Revere, Massachusetts, parents THOUGHT they were taking their children to go see the kids movie Megamind.

They thought wrong.

Instead of showing a 3D family film, the theater accidentally started playing Saw 3D instead. Apparently parents got nervous when the previews seemed a bit "advanced" for children.

Once the theater realized their mistake, the children were told to cover their eyes during the horrific scenes of violence onscreen while they dealt with the problem.

Um….why didn't they immediately stop the movie? Or tell the kids to leave the theater? There are def a few better ways they could have dealt with that situation.

Here's what Dolph Rau, an upset father had to say about his traumatized child:

“He came and slept with us and we thought we had gotten past that years ago. He said that he had a few nightmares. Again, all that I would like to see come out of this is that its not going to happen again.”

To make up for their mistake, the movie theater gave the children one free ticket each. RIGHT! As if the parents would EVER take their children back to that theater!

How would U react if U took your kids to see a family movie and Saw 3D started playing?

Megamind Makes Mega Bucks!

It pays to have big name celebrities!

The Dreamworks animated film, Megamind, starring Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, Brad Pitt, and Jonah Hill took over the box office this weekend, stealing the number one spot with $47.7 million.

The Robert Downey, Jr. and Zach Galifianakis' road-trip comedy, Due Date also had a strong opening, taking the number two spot with $33.5 million.

The Tyler Perry drama For Colored Girls with a huge ensemble cast, including Janet Jackson and Whoopi Goldberg, took in an expected $20.1 million, which also did fairly well considering the heavy story lines that may have driven some audiences away.

The Bruce Willis and Helen Mirren action film, Red remained in the top five, coming in fourth place with $8.9 million.

Horror-flick Saw 3D took a big drop, rounding out the top five, with $8.2 million.

Saw 3D Slices To The #1 Spot On Halloween Weekend

saw-3d-movie-poster.jpg

People loooove to watch creepy things on Halloween!

Saw 3D, the film's seventh and (hopefully) final film in its franchise, was the #1 movie this weekend, taking in $24.2 million.

While the film definitely made more than last year's Saw VI's $14.1 million, it was only the fifth highest-grossing film out of all the Saw movies.

Paranormal Activity 2 went down a notch, taking the #2 spot in its second weekend, with $16.5 million. In just two weeks, the film has made $65.7 million, which is a HUGE number, considering the film only cost $3 million to make.

Summit's Red remained in third place with $10.8 million while Jackass 3D took a pretty big drop, plummeting 61% with $8.4 million.

Matt Damon's Hereafter dropped 47% and took the 5th spot with $6.3 million.

Yikes.

What did U see this Halloween weekend??

They're scared of each other!

Lionsgate has pushed back the release date of Saw 3D from October 22 to October 29 so it doesn't go against Paranormal Activity 2!

Last October Saw VI opened the same weekend as Paranormal Activity and it only grossed $14.1 million, compared to PA's $21.2 million.

Which one do U want to see?? Or will U see both of them?

Saw 3D Will Be The Last One!

We hope you've had enough, because Jigsaw's reign is soon coming to an end!

Saw 3D, the upcoming 7th movie in the Saw franchise, will be the last one according to producers who say, "It's time to stop. We have told the story we wanted to tell, and this is going to be a great farewell."

The 3D movie will have 11 booby traps, almost double compared to the previous films, and it was submitted 6 times to the MPAA before bringing it down from an NC-17 to an R rating!

Producer Mark Burg reveals:

"I'm surprised we got it. It's more violent than any of them. But it's in 3-D, it answers all the questions, it comes full circle. We have the good on this one."

As for critics of the franchise, star Tobin Bell says:

"It's a free country. If people don't want to look at certain things, they shouldn't go. The people who don't go to films were more upset than the horror fans. You can say what you want about it, but Saw fans have loved and supported it every year. We must have been doing something right."

Will U go see Saw 3D?
