Ugh!!! This is so unbearably sad!!!

We told you earlier that shots were fired at Santa Monica College today, while the President was nearby, and that several people were injured!!

Several victims were taken to nearby hospitals, some are in critical condition. We're even hearing reports of possible fatalities.

It's unclear exactly what happened, but nearby cars were apparently sprayed with bullets and nearby property was damaged by fire, though it isn't yet certain how those two tragedies are related, if at all.

Police Sgt. Rudy Flores says the shooter is in custody, and injured, but did not speak to the extent of those injuries.

Police took a man into custody who wore all black, with a phrase on the back of his shirt that reading "Life is a Gamble," but it isn't clear whether he is the injured suspect.

Shortly after the shots were fired, school officials went into lock-down mode, canceling final exams and cautioning all students to stay in their classroom.

In a Facebook statement, the college said:

"Due to the shooter situation on the main SMC campus, the college is on lock-down. This means that if you are on campus, stay out of open spaces, stay in doors, lock all doors and do not open the doors until you receive an all clear from college officials.

If you are off campus, do NOT come to campus.

Thank you for your cooperation. Stay tuned for updates."

Schools are supposed to be amongst the most sacred places on earth; our heart breaks whenever something so unfathomably sad like this happens.

UPDATE: Several sources now confirm the death of multiple victims, and also the death of the main suspect.

The L.A. Times suggests the suspect may have had an accomplice.

This is HORRIBLE!

Santa Monica College is on lockdown right now, after an outburst of gunfire reportedly injured at least three people.

All the details of this nightmarish occurrence aren't immediately known, but it seems a suspect was captured in the school's library and taken into police custody.

Apparently the injured victims were shot while inside a car near the campus.

President Barack Obama is actually in Santa Monica today for a Democratic luncheon fundraiser, but it's unclear to what extent the gunfire was related to his visit.

Our hearts go out to the victims and their families, hopefully everyone is OK!

Richard Ramirez, a.k.a. The Night Stalker, is dead at 53.

He died on death row in San Quentin State Prison, the only place he's lived since being sentenced to death back in 1989.

Richard earned the nickname The Night Stalker because he snuck in through his victims windows late at night during a rape-murder spree that claimed at least 13 lives in the Los Angeles area back in the mid-80s

There are conflicting reports as to the cause of his death. One source says

A new documentary called Blackfish had the interest of several buyers at Sundance.

The film is about Tilikum, the killer whale who is responsible for the deaths of three people.

We previously mentioned that a highly skilled trainer was killed at SeaWorld when Tilikum dragged her underwater and wouldn't let her go.

Now, this documentary seeks to expose the cruelty that these creatures suffer at SeaWorld and how their living conditions can drive them to madness!

The doc is apparently so good that both Magnolia Pictures and CNN Films bought the rights to the film together.

Magnolia is going to release it July 19th while CNN is going to air it sometime this fall.

AIDS is a serious illness, as we all know, and if what this former lover of Liberace's is saying is true… well, it would be one of biggest letdowns of character we've ever experienced!

Though, it IS highly suspect that this info would come out so close to the new movie Behind the Candelabra!

Scott Throson was a former lover of Liberace's, and he claims that the legendary entertainer (played by Michael Douglas in the movie) was aware he had AIDS when he infected at least three of his young sex partners.

This is like the end of the second act of an animated kids movie about a group of kids who befriend a lonely bear, only to have it captured by mean adults (who secretly just want to not let the bear eat the kids)!

All that's left is the third act, where the kids beat the school officials at their own game and break the bear out of bear prison and release him back into the wild! LOLz!

Back to reality though - in Montclair, NJ all outdoor activities were suspended because a black bear was seriously just stalking delicious children!
