Well this lawsuit took a long time to come to fruition!
Too bad they're not going to win!
A deceased writer's estate is attempting to sue Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling and her publishing companies in the UK and US because they claim that the acclaimed author stole content from his stories and used it in her book Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire!
According to the lawsuit, writer Adrian Jacobs unsuccessfully tried to sell his series, Willy the Wizard, to Rowling's UK publishers, Bloomsbury in 1987. Jacobs died ten years later, but his estate alleges that his first novel, The Adventures of Willy the Wizard - No 1 Livid Land bares a striking resemblance to the fourth book in the smash fantasy series!
They've since extended the copyright infringement lawsuit to the series' US publisher, Scholastic, and are requesting all copies of the book to be recalled and to transfer all of its profits to Jacobs' estate!
PSH. Are they effing insane??
We don't believe this bullshiz for a minute!
And even if there is a HINT of truth to this lawsuit - NOT that we think there is - Rowling's lawyers are going to tear these people apart in the courtroom!
LOLs! Nice try, morons!
