Flavor Flav Is Coming Back To TV! And Heading To High School!

And just when we thought he'd been off the grid long enough to be out of our lives forever!

Former Public Enemy rapper Flavor Flav has already touched our lives in bizarre and uncomfortable significant ways with his appearances on such reality shows as The Surreal Life and Strange Love, and now, he's ready to take the Billy Madison route and go back and try to earn his high school diploma - on a reality TV show called Flavor Flav Goes Back To High School!

The rapper will attempt to attend school in Clinton, Iowa, and sources close to production have learned that they're attempting to pay students to stick around and film with him after hours, as to not disrupt the teens' normal schedule during the day.

However, Clinton School System Superintendent Deb Olsen has yet to be fully receptive to the idea, and thinks that his presence will bring "a substantial disruption to the school day" and could have "an adverse effect on students."

Flav has already met with Olsen and a member of the school board, and is expected to speak in front of all the officials in the upcoming weeks.

He explains:

"I want this show to be able to influence people my age, that if you dropped out of high school when you were young it's never too late to go back to get your diploma."

Very true! And we'll admit, he certainly sounds as though he's committed to actually doing it, camera crews or not!

But don't be disappointed if they turn you down, bb!

The well-being of the kids has to come first in these scenarios, and as much as we want to see you succeed, you may have to do so in a night-school setting!

Fingers crossed, either way!

Yay, Minneapolis!

In a unanimous vote by the Minneapolis School Board on Tuesday evening, a resolution was passed that increases its LGBT curriculum and anti-bullying efforts.

The school district will up its tracking of anti-LGBT bullying incidents, along with LGBT themes in school curriculum. All district staff, from administrators to buss drivers, will receive yearly training on these matters. Also sexual health curriculum will include LGBT issues and an elective course will be offered on LGBT history.

Carla Bates, board treasurer and the first LGBT person to be elected to the board, said:

“I want to assure the taxpayers of Minneapolis that a lot of the safeguards in terms of reporting that were enumerated in this are already done. This would just add the LGBTQ category to that reporting. It’s not like we are creating any new expensive structures. We already have those structures in place.”

I really appreciate director [Chris] Stewart’s leadership in this. It’s not something that would have happened four years ago, and it’s something I’m definitely surprised about.”

And many other board members believe this is a great idea!

Member Peggy Flanagan added:

“What an incredible thing to be able vote on as our last vote as the current board to leave Minneapolis a more welcoming and inclusive place. I feel blessed that this is my last vote I get to take as a board member.”

School superintendent Bernadeia Johnson said:

“Not all other districts are doing this work. When we are out at the Pride Parade, when you talk to our youth, we hear how proud they are that they have a district that acknowledges them and cares about their safety.”

Amazing! Equality for all!

Creationist Science Teacher Fired After BRANDING Image Of The Cross On Students!

What on Earth?! This is absolutely insane!

An Ohio science teacher has been fired for not only attempting to preach Christian beliefs to his classes, but for taking it even further by using a scientific device to BURN the image of a cross into his students' arms!

Holy shiz!

The Mount Vernon school board reportedly attempted to have him dismissed after complaints that John Freshwater kept a Bible on his desk, but for some crazy reason he was able to successfully appeal the ruling.

However, after news came to light about the cross burnings, the school board accepted a state official's recommendation to terminate him last night, effective at midnight.

Unbelievable. So many layers of absolutely unbelievable.

What makes anyone think that they have any business forcing their beliefs on anyone else, let alone taking advantage of their position as an authoritarian and forcing young students to listen to it?!

We're not even going to TOUCH the fact that essentially branded kids!

That man should not be allowed ANYWHERE near children, let alone work again as a teacher!

George Takei Slams Homophobic Arkansas School Board Member In "It Gets Better" Video!

Damn, George Takei! Burn!

Check out the openly gay actor in a very unconventional video for the "It Gets Better" campaign (above) by putting homophobic Arkansas school board member Clint McCance on serious BLAST for the hateful comments he made on his Facebook page regarding gay people!

We couldn't have said it better ourselves!

Thanks for taking a stand and calling it like it is, bb!

Arkansas School Board Member FINALLY Apologizes And RESIGNS After Homophobic Facebook Rant!

Check out (above) Arkansas' Midland School District board member Clint McCance appearing on Anderson Cooper 360 to publicly apologize for his disgusting, homophobic and hateful rant on his Facebook page.

Well, it's not really an apology, he mostly just stutters and refuses to answer direct questions from Cooper, but he does announce his resignation from the position.

Good! There's no need for that kind of hate, ESPECIALLY from someone influencing the lives of countless children.

Such a shame.
