And it sounds like they are both DEFINITELY happening!
While walking the Emmy red carpet, Mark Wahlberg chatted up reporters and slipped some details about some pretty big projects he's got coming down the pipeline.
First off, fans of the Oscar-winning boxing drama The Fighter can rejoice because it sounds like a sequel is a GO! He talked about who will be writing it and what the story will be, saying:
"We're hoping that Scott Silver, who really wrote the first one, will come on, write the script. This one we'd try to make a more commercial movie about the three big fights. Dramatically, there's a lot more at stake for Micky because [after] he won the title, people automatically thought — he's still living in Lowell [Massachusetts] — they thought all of a sudden he was rich. He made a couple thousand dollars for that fight when he won the title. And that's when things got really difficult for him."
Mark also has his first family restaurant endeavor in the works. Along with brothers Donnie and Paul, he plans on opening the aptly named burger joint Wahlburgers and taping the process for all his fans to enjoy!
If anyone is a little skeptical about Mark's decision to produce reality, he'd like to remind them that people were initially skeptical about his hit show Entourage too, saying:
"Listen, when I told the story that I wanted to do a show about a movie star and his five friends running around Hollywood, everybody said it was the dumbest idea in the world. My brother is a five-star chef. So it's a family-run business. You're going to see us doing a reality show about building the business. This is the real deal. We'll throw it up there and see if it sticks."
You've got our support, Mark! We can't wait to watch The Fighter 2 while chomping down on a Wahlburger!
