3D Porn Flick Beats Avatar In Hong Kong Box Office!

3D Porn V Avatar

"It's like I can reach out and touch it!" - Everyone with a sense of humor.

But really, this is an achievement regardless of the movie's content, and here's a bit about its victory:

The $3.5 million Cantonese-language production "3D Sex and Zen: Extreme Ecstasy" had earned 17 million Hong Kong dollars ($2.2 million) as of Tuesday since opening last week on 73 screens, according to figures provided by producer Stephen Shiu. That's nearly seven times the total take so far for Hollywood thriller "Scream 4," which has earned HK$2.5 million ($320,000).

It also kicked Avatar's ass in first day box office sales!

The film brought in HK$2.78 million ($360,000) on its opening day last Thursday, eclipsing the previous first-day record set by James Cameron's 2009 3-D sci-fi epic "Avatar," which earned HK$2.63 million ($340,000) on its first day.

"Sex and Zen" – a remake of a 1991 Hong Kong movie by the same name – features full nudity and camouflaged lovemaking scenes but does not show actual sexual intercourse, as is common in pornographic films. The movie tells the story of a sexually frustrated scholar in ancient China who loses himself in the harem of a duke he befriends.

It's very interesting to us that there was such a huge response to this. Not that pornography is a bad thing, but rather it was a major release (something that is almost exclusively direct to DVD here in the States) and that people came from all over China to see it!

We wonder if anything like that would fly here… probably not. Not yet at least. Unless you count Love And Other Drugs?? Let's get a 3D conversion going, right people??

Would U see a 3D Porn movie in a theater filled with people??

The Opening You Didn't See In Scre4m!

So, those of you who did go to see Scre4m this weekend instead of Rio, do we have a treat for you! You'll recall that back in January, Scre4m went back into production to do some reshoots, particularly for the flick's iconic opening sequence. We now have a better sense of what originally was supposed to happen, what was cut from the first draft and what was kept the same.

Want to know more? You should - we've even got some nifty visuals to help explain what happens. This is definitely SPOILERY for anyone who hasn't seen the movie yet, so if you don't want to know or haven't see Scre4m yet, we recommend holding off on this until later.

For the rest of you, click the jump and let the SCREAMing begin!!!

Rio Wins The Weekend BIG, Scre4m…Not So Much

Better luck next weekend, Sidney Prescott.

The weekend went to the birds as the animated feature, Rio, brought in $40 million at the box-office. Their take landed them the honor of having the best opening of the year, thus far.

Scre4m, however, really disappointed and had to settle for $19.3 million, WAY less than originally predicated.

Whomp, whomp. Where were you this week, Screamers?!

Rio's Birds Of A Feather Fare Better Than Scre4m At The Box-Office

Guess the box-office belongs to the kiddies this weekend!

The Friday numbers are in and so far, the family flick Rio is in the lead with an impressive $10.2 million take from the box-office yesterday. If the 3D toon keeps this up, they could end up with a strong $37 million for the weekend.

Coming in at the #2 spot, slashing an estimated $8 million out of movie-goers, was Scre4m. The flick is getting decent reviews, but based on its performance yesterday, it is projected to take in $20 million for the weekend. That's well below what Dimension Films had projected, but still, not a bad start.

C'mon people! You can do better than this! Would it help if we told you we know the ending and it will undoubtedly BLOW YOUR MIND??? Trust us, go see this movie! It's scary! It's funny! It's written by Kevin Williamson and directed by Wes Craven - 'nough said!

The Inevitable Has Happened! Mickey Rourke Re-Asses Praise For Megan Fox's Acting Ability!

Filed under: Film FlickersSilly!Megan FoxMickey Rourke

Well, so much for that!

The world was pretty collectively floored when last year, Mickey Rourke praised his co-star in the apparently very terrible (and direct-to-DVD) Passion Play, Megan Fox, as one of the best actresses of our time, but now that the flick is pretty much sinking without a trace, the eccentric actor has HIGHlariously changed his tune!

If you recall, he was quoted as saying:

"I don’t know if a lot of her films have showcased her acting ability more than, say, being action-oriented, but she really stepped up the plate with this one and was very consistent and professional, beyond her years. At 23, I couldn’t do half of what she’s doing."

Well, this was NOT the case last night, when he was interviewed outside a screening of Scream 4.

Here are the HIGHlights:

What about your movie with Megan Fox and Bill Murray?

Terrible. Another terrible movie. But, you know, in your career and all the movies you make, you’re going to make dozens of terrible ones.

You called Megan Fox, like, one of the best actresses of all time.

That I worked with [smirk].

That movie’s getting limited release.

That’s because it’s not very good.

LOLz! Oh, man! This is pretty amazing, we're not going to lie!

But on the upside, Foxy, Mickey's had a lot of female co-stars in a lot of movies, so we guess there's still a compliment somewhere in there!

And hey!

There will probably be a Transformers 4 at some point, so maybe if you're on your best behavior, they'll let you come back for that!

Just saying!
