Melissa McCarthy continues to be on a hot streak!

Fresh off of last year's Emmy and buzz surrounding her amazing performance in Bridesmaids, Melissa has sold a script to CBS for a new sitcom.

This becomes the second script she's sold after the first was sold in September 2011.

The untltled spec is about a man who lives at home with his parents…and he's 37. It was co-written by Larry Dorf and Mel's husband and fellow Bridesmaids' alum Ben Falcone.

The Emmy winner will take a non-writing executive producer role for the show.

We're so proud of her success! Melissa is unstoppable!

Jimmy Fallon Sells THREE Scripts To NBC

Oh, these are going to be good!

In just its first year in production, Jimmy Fallon and his company Holiday Road have sold their first three comedy scripts to NBC.

Jimmy will also executive produce along with one of his show's writers, Amy Ozols.

The three shows are Fat Rob, which is about a former rapper trying to be a good father, DILFs, a show about dads who don't feel adult enough to be parents, and Rick follows a man who is the same age as his stepson.

LOLz! These all sound like SNL skits. And they also sound pretty HIGHlarious.

Way to go, Jimmy and co.!

Family Guy Becomes A Comic Book…Next Month

family guy to become a comic book

By now, we've got Family Guy DVDs, t-shirts, boxers, posters, shot glasses, playing cards, soundtracks, and NOW there are comic books too.

The first-ever Family Guy comic hits stores on July 27, and according to editor Steve White, it promises to delve deeper than ever before into the Family Guy characters/world:

"'The Family Guy' universe is an amazing wellspring of ideas to plunder. It's given us a lot of latitude to develop stories ranging from one-page gag strips to more extended full-length scripts and pretty much everything in between."

"We're even looking at recurring one-pagers, but as I said, really, the world is our oyster here."

More on the characters to be featured in the comic:

"There's no way we would want to miss out on using the likes of Quagmire. There's also a wealth of other characters we'd want to include. We're not just paying lip service to the show. We're really immersing ourselves in it."

And more from White on how the comic book came to be:

"We felt that Family Guy TV show to Family Guy comic was a natural progression, but Fox needed a little convincing. In the end, we winged it and did a two-page comic strip off our own back and that actually seemed to do the trick."

And here's White on show creator Seth MacFarlane's potential involvement:

"If Seth ever fancied taking time out to write a comic strip or do a cover, we'd be pretty appreciative."

What do U think about a Family Guy comic book? Will U give it a read?

Brit Brit Wants To Get Back Into Acting!

britney-spears-consdering-acting

We actually don't think this is a terrible idea!

Many have speculated that Britney Spears' lethargic-looking demeanor during promotional performances for her new album, Femme Fatale, is due to the fact that she may just not be that interested in being a pop star anymore, and now, we're beginning to think that this may be the case - because we've gotten word that she's been reading through a variety of film scripts, with interest to reboot her acting career!

A source explains:

"Britney is very mindful that she has to evolve as an artist now she is heading towards her thirties. Music will always be a part of her life but she has come to love acting, and comedy especially. She is currently considering a few scripts. One is a comedy and a kind of parody of the popstar she is and the other is a more serious role which is an action movie."

We're just going to say it: EXCELLENT!

We could definitely understand it if she wanted to give something else a shot, seeing as she's been singing and dancing over half of her life! And she's already proven on NUMEROUS occasions how good she is at comedy, both on Saturday Night Live and during her guest-starring stint on How I Met Your Mother!

And who knows? Maybe after a few films and life experiences later, she'll be re-inspired and ready to throw herself back into music!

Whatever the case may be, we just want to see her passionate, and most importantly, HAPPY!

What do U think?? Should Britney focus on acting?

Amazon Launches Their Own Movie Studio!

amazon studios launches

How weird would it be if one day we saw the word AMAZON appear before movies on the big screen?

On that note, get ready from some weirdness….

Amazon.com has announced the launch of Amazon Studios, which will be run by users, and will feature monthly contests and lots of community feedback regarding films.

Here's what Amazon is looking to do with the studio:

"[To make] feature films derived from the best user submissions that Amazon Studios produces for theatrical release."

Amazon Studios will have a first look deal with Warner Bros, which means that if you can get people excited enough about your project, Warner just might pick it up!

And if they don't…Amazon can just try to sell it to another studio! Wouldn't you love to see the words "Universal Studios" appear on screen before a movie that YOU made yourself? Of course you would!

If you need even more incentive to take advantage of upcoming Black Friday deals on video cameras, Amazon has announced that they'll offer $2.7 million total in awards to the top submissions they receive by Dec. 31, 2011!

For those of you writers out there who are less-than-gifted with a camera, you'll also be able to submit scripts to the site!

If you're willing to take your chances with the camera, Amazon is currently accepting "Test Movie" submissions, which must be over 70 minutes long, and they can be made from an original script or any script submitted to the site. And no, they don't have to be full budget.

We think this is awesome, and we say you should definitely check out the site, because there are EVEN more contests and opportunities available there for people with talent or people without talent who can fake it well.

We're very excited to see what happens with this site! We have a feeling it's going to become really popular, quickly. Watch out, YouTube!

What will U submit to Amazon Studios?
