Ricky Gervais is always more than willing to throw in his two cents.

Especially if the topic of discussion is related to animals, the environment or some combo of the two.

We previously mentioned that Western Australia had begun a government-sponsored, controversial shark culling program.

He tweeted:

Ghost Ship Crewed By Cannibal Rats Heading For Land!

Filed under: Wacky, Tacky & TrueScary!CrazzzzyRat

Cannibal rat infest ghost cruise ship floating towards land possibly!

This sounds like a cool intro for a horror movie.

An abandoned cruise ship is currently floating somewhere off the coast of Scotland, biding its time until it can crash onto a beach somewhere.

Oh, and the ship is full of disease-riddled rats. Who have DEF turned to cannibalism by now to survive.

The ship, The Lyubov Orlova, was originally

Khaleesi Gets Sea Creature Named After Her!

Filed under: TV NewsSilly!Science!Game Of Thrones

khaleesi sea slug

It's just too bad it's not an underwater giant dragon or something, but rather an unassuming sea slug that kinda looks like her blonde hair!

LOLz!

The new species was found near Northeast Brazil, and has landed the name Tritonia Khaleesi, after Daenerys Targayen from HBO's Game of Thrones, played by the gorgeous Emilia Clarke!

The creature apparently only measures up to about 12 mm in length and has seven pairs of tiny branchial plumes — the same white/blonde of the Khaleesi's hair!

What's even funnier is the specific category this sea slug falls into, called the 'nudibranch', because of how often the Khaleesi and other characters are

Is Glowing "Alien" Jellyfish Just A Hoax??

Glowing

Something equal parts beautiful and terrifying happened in Bristol Harbour, in the UK.

A crowd was gathering at the edge of the water of the harbor, trying to get a look at the glowing creature just underneath the water.

Was it a glowing jellyfish? Or some alien/weird deep sea creature?

A biologist was called in to investigate, and said:

"It is very intriguing – I do not really know what to make of it. There is a possibility that it is a special type of jellyfish or a marine salp. It is very unusual and I have not really seen anything like it before though. What makes it even more unusual is the fact that it showed up in the middle of a really busy area."

Ha! That's one smart scientist! Two possible explanations and one logical one.

If it's weird and unexplained and in the middle of a busy area… odds are it's a hoax.

And… apparently it was! It was all a stunt set up by UKTV's entertainment channel, Watch.

The whole thing was set up to launch a new show called The Happenings all about amazing illusions set up by two master magicians.

Sea Lion Steals Prize Fish Out Of Fisherman's Hands!

Filed under: Sea CreaturesFishFunnySea LionReality TV

Ha! That's ridiculous!! We can't believe that just happened!

This guy is lucky he didn't lose a finger!

A sea lion just popped up outta nowhere and stole that guy's fish!!

They were filming a reality show, Chef on the Water, for the Mexico travel channel when the theft went down.

We bet that even though they lost that fish, it'll make for one hell of a TV storyline!

Check out the video (above) to see one sneaky sea lion steal himself a meal!
