Time to change his relationship status!
Facebook Co-Founder Chris Hughes (above right) is engaged to his boyfriend, Sean Eldridge, political director for Freedom To Marry.
Eldridge announced their engagement at the New York City reception in Support of Freedom To Marry at the couple's SoHo loft.
Eldridge told their guests:
"This is very timely for Chris and I to have you here tonight to celebrate marriage and work on marriage. We got engaged two weeks ago, so there is a real sense of urgency."
They have yet to set a date, but the two are willing to wait until marriage is legal in New York. Eldridge added:
"As you know, we can't get married in New York, so there is more of an urgency to approve gay marriage, so we can get married here. We're going to get married in the next year or two for sure. We're hoping as soon as possible."
We hope so too.
Congratulations!
