After Senate Debacle, House Democrats Are Holding A Sit-In Protest For Gun Control Reform! Look!

After the Senate rejected four gun control proposals in the wake of the country's worst mass shooting in history, Democrats in the House of Representatives decided to try a different tactic.

They're protesting.

It all started when Representative John Lewis (above, center), a veteran of the Civil Rights movement in the '60s, took to the House floor and said:

"Now is the time for us to find a way to dramatize it, to make it real. We have to occupy the floor of the House until there is action."

Then the House Dems just sat down on the floor. And they're not moving.

The protest — which is not being televised because the House is not currently in session — is being reported by the Reps themselves, on Twitter:

This mother was horrified.

A Michigan mom is deeply disturbed by her three-year-old's school safety drill.

Earlier this month, Stacey Feeley caught her young daughter standing on their toilet at home. The parent snapped a pic (above) because she thought her little girl was just being goofy.

But then, the toddler told her momma that she was actually practicing a mass shooting drill she had learned at her Traverse City preschool.

This happened just days after the horrific shooting at Orlando's Pulse gay club that killed 49 people.

Horrified, Stacey took to Facebook on June 15 to draw attention to the fact that we live in a society that's teaching children to expect mass shootings, and practice hiding from gunmen.

Miz Feeley penned an impassioned plea to politicians, writing:

Senate Blocks Four Gun Control Proposals In The Wake Of The Orlando Shooting

This is so frustrating.

After Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy's 14-hour filibuster on Wednesday prompted a vote on gun control regulations, we hoped something was FINALLY going to change.

Instead, the Senate has blocked four proposals during the vote on Monday.

The Democratic politician held the filibuster in the wake of the June 12 shooting at Orlando's Pulse gay club that killed 49 people and injured dozens.

But even this terrible tragedy couldn't get the two parties in the Senate to agree on a measure.

Iowa Senator Charles Grassley pitched a plan that would increase money for background checks. However, it overhauled language that prevented people with mental illness from purchasing firearms.

But, Democratic opponents felt it would diminish the protections that are already in place,

ICYMI: Kentucky's Senate Passes A Bill That Allows Businesses To Discriminate Against The LGBT Community

This is just awful.

We can't believe sh*t like this is still happening.

ICYMI, on Tuesday, the Kentucky Senate passed a religious liberties bill to legally protect businesses that deny service to members of the LGBT community because of religious reasons.

The Republican-controlled senate passed the measure — which would expand on the state's 2013 Religious Freedom Restoration Act — on a 22-16 vote.

The problem with the legislation is that, even though same-sex marriage has been legalized nationwide, it continues to promote anti-gay sentiments and allow discriminatory actions.

However, those supporting the bill say it protects citizens' rights to freedom of conscience.

Its lead sponsor, Senator Albert Robinson, defended the measure, saying:

South Dakota Senate Passes 'Bathroom Bill' Which Unfairly Targets Transgender Students

We just hope this gets vetoed!

On Tuesday, the South Dakota Senate passed a bill that requires high school students to use restrooms based on their "chromosomes and anatomy" at birth.

This measure is seen as discriminatory towards the transgender community as it forces students to use facilities that do not match their gender. This act could lead to more prejudice and intolerance.

Proponents of the bill argue that this is necessary to protect children's privacy.

The measure passed with a vote of 20-15, and was previously approved in the State House of Representatives.

Governor Dennis Daugaard has five days to veto the bill, or else it will become law.

According to Mara Keisling from The National Center for Transgender Equality:

"This bill hurts transgender students, takes away control from local schools, and doesn't solve any problems. In fact, it does more harm than good to both trans kids and South Dakota's reputation."

We're confident South Dakota will make the right decision.
