Robert Downey Jr. IS Iron Man! Signs On For Avengers 2 And 3!

robert downey jr iron man signs on avengers 2 3

Robert Downey Jr. is back!

The Iron Man 3 star has finally inked a deal with Marvel to reprise the role of Tony Stark in not one but TWO more Avengers movies!

Yes! There's no way anyone else would do in the Iron Man suit! Though we did enjoy seeing Gwyneth Paltrow take it for a spin!

Whew! Not a moment too soon! Marvel's The Avengers 2 already has a release date and everything! Unfortunately not until May 2015, but still!

For our money, it would take more than those two years just to find another man who could fill RDJ's metal boots!

And for Marvel's money too! Though they're not saying how much it cost to keep Robert around, we'll just call it Tony Stark money!

James Franco's Spider Senses Untingled By The Amazing Spider-Man

James Franco might like both the Kirsten Dunst and leaf-version of Mary Jane, but for him, there's only one true Peter Parker…

In a recent review of Man of Steel, James Franco gave the new Superman flick a positive assessment. However, in the course of his piece he was not so kind to The Amazing Spider-Man, mentioning that the reboot of the series was made "before there was time to bury the corpse of the old one." Whoa, harsh! Sounds like James has some serious Arachnophobia when it comes to newer Spidey films.

James, who played Harry Osborn in the previous Spider-Man trilogy directed by Sam Raimi, said in another interview that the remake was, "eh." And mind you, that's the bad "eh," not the thumbs-up Fonzie "ehhhh!"

Apparently, watching The Amazing Spider-Man left James with his spider senses very much un-tingled, as he continued his diss fest by saying this:

Robert Downey Jr. Talks Leaving Iron Man Franchise! No!!!

iron man 3 imax poster1

Say it ain't so, Robert Downey Jr.!

The Avengers star is thinking about retiring from the role of Iron Man, and it's Tony Stark's family demons that made him realize it! He says:

"It got me thinking about how big the message from your cosmic sponsor needs to be before you pick it up.

How many genre movies can I do? How many follow-ups to a successful follow-up are actually fun?"

We just hope he doesn't forget about his comics sponsor!

But of course no franchise can last forever, not even Fast & Furious! But what will RDJ do next if not defeating super-villains? He says:
