Rescued Sea Turtle Moves To Vegas!!

OD is a 320-pound, 50-year-old sea turtle.

He was rescued from the Florida Keys in 2008 after he got sick.

Now, he's finally moved to his forever home!

After literally being FedEx'd to Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, he's now finally settling into the hotel's 1.3-million-gallon Shipwreck Exhibit.

That sounds like a HUGE tank! He's joining two other green sea turtles, sharks, rays, fish and more! 22 other species in all!!

That's ahmazying!

The aquarium's director said:

"Shark Reef Aquarium guests can visit OD while learning about the turtle's wild habitat and the impacts humans have on endangered green sea turtles. We are honored to offer OD a permanent home and are committed to creating an enriching environment for his continued health."

So not only will OD be all sorts of healthy, he'll help people learn about conservation.

That's double great!! Way to go, Mandalay Bay!

Check out the video (above) to see OD getting ready to ship out!

Swimmer Sets Record With 15-Foot Shark Chasing Her!!

A swimmer set a record while a 15-foot tiger shark was tailing her!!

Meredith Novack is the first woman to swim the almost 20-mile round trip between the Hawaiian islands of Lanai and Maui.

Not only did she complete the swim, but she did it 44 minutes faster than the men's record!!

Oh, and she was being tailed by a 15-foot tiger shark the whole time!!!

The 37-year-old had no idea the monster was right behind her… because her crew didn't tell her!!

Though she was apparently glad they said nothing. She wanted to concentrate on the swim, and, besides, she felt protected because of her Shark Shield!!

What's Shark Shield? Their website defines it as:

"Two electrodes that emit electric waves, creating an elliptical-shaped field around a swimmer or diver."

This electrical field shield really bugs sharks and forces them to keep their distance.

Thank goodness for her Shark Shield or else that 15-footer might've had himself a tasty swimmer snack!

Though maybe if she knew that shark was behind her, she would've knocked another few minutes off that record! LOLz!

New Wetsuits Designed To Stop Shark Attacks!

New wetsuits are designed to stop shark attacks!

How does this work? Are the wetsuits made out of chainmail armor??

Ha! Nope! The Australian research company SAMS (Shark Attack Mitigation Services) has come up with some shark deterrent technology to keep ocean-goers safe!

They've built wetsuits that use colors, shapes and special patterns to try and either mimic creatures known to sharks as poisonous or to make the wearer invisible.

Some people actually think the poison fish mimicking suits could actually be a problem, with one shark researcher saying:

Dead Shark Rides NYC Subway!

Dead Shark

Either Discovery is getting creative and cruel with a new viral campaign for Shark Week or some prankster wanted to celebrate Shark Week in their own weird way.

We're assuming the latter.

On a Queens-bound N train, passengers were surprised to find themselves riding alongside a dead sand shark!

No one saw how the shark ended up on the subway, but one witness who was possibly one of the first on the scene, said:

Shark Cat Rides A Roomba In Honor Of Shark Week! Watch HERE!

It's Shark Week!! Wooo!

During shark week there are only a few things you're supposed to do: watch sharks, learn about sharks and be all about all things sharks.

So, if you've been feeling like you're missing out on constant shark stuff, we've got something that'll fill that gap!

It's a cat, dressed in a shark costume, riding around on top of a Roomba.

That sounds like the best thing ever.

We love cats, we love cats on Roombas, and we loooove sharks… so this is the perfect storm of cuteness!!

Check out the video (above) for some serious kitty/shark cuteness!
