This is incredible!

What a crazy story.

Brody the black lab was a friendly and playful dog who "loved everything and everyone."

He would regularly squeeze his way through his Florida home's back porch gate and go exploring, but would always return by nightfall.

Until one day he never came back.

Steve-O Helps Raise Funds For Pet-Friendly Charity

Last Saturday, Jackass's Steve-O hosted a fundraiser to benefit The Kindness Collective.

The Kindness Collective is a group that works with domestic violence shelters to help accommodate survivors' pets.

"Up to 40% of domestic violence victims report that they are unable to escape their abusers because they are afraid of what will happen to their pets when they leave.

The Kindness Collective hopes to bring an end to the abuse by permitting victims of domestic violence to seek safety along with their pets."

At the event Steve-O spoke about his transition to living clean, sober and vegan. He said:

"Cruelty is unhealthy; compassion is healthy. And that is a universal rule that stays the same no matter what area you look at. I have benefitted from being vegan in every area of my life… emotionally, mentally, physically."

The founder and president of The Kindness Collective said:

"There's so much more to Steve-O than you see in Jackass and Wildboyz. Steve-O has a huge heart, and he lives a compassionate vegan life that is completely in line with the mission of The Kindness Collective."

Not only has he been clean and sober since March of 2008 he's also living a vegan, cruelty-free lifestyle.

Way to go, Steve-O!
