This Early Footage Of Chris Farley Voicing Shrek From 1997 Will Make You Question Everything! Watch Here!

no title

Chris Farley's last official movie credit is 1998's Western comedy Almost Heroes with Matthew Perry. But the late comedy legend was working on another role at the time of his death, which would be one of the most recognizable animated characters of all time.

The Saturday Night Live alum was originally cast as everyone's favorite green ogre in the 2001 animated film Shrek before he died of a drug overdose in 1997.

But the funny man's version of the titular character would have been very different than the one we're familiar with! Kevin Farley, who is executive producer of the new documentary I am Chris Farley, said:

"Originally the Shrek character was a little bit more like Chris, like a humble, bumbling innocent guy."

The lead role of the DreamWorks fairytale comedy ultimately went to Farley's SNL co-star Mike Myers, who gave the ogre a Scottish accent and a bigger attitude. But the Farley family isn't bitter that the studio recast the role. Kevin explains:

"I understand why [they replaced him]. The studio needed to do what they needed to do. It was a bad time, bad timing… a tragedy. Mike did a great job with Shrek. He knocked it out of the park."

Amanda Holden Says Goodbye To Shrek And Hello To Mommyhood!

Holding back tears, a five-month-old pregnant Amanda Holden said goodbye as she performed as Princess Fiona for the last time in Shrek at the Theatre Royal in London's West End.

The Britain's Got Talent star has been extra cautious during her pregnancy, after tragically suffering a stillbirth earlier this year, so it's no wonder Amanda has decided to cut her run short.

Amanda later said:

"In pretty empty dressing room! It's like the end of a movie and hopefully I'll get a Happily Ever After."

We do too, Amanda! And you look great. Take care of yourself, get plenty of rest, and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy!

Full Puss In Boots Trailer!

We'll be honest: we were a little worried that it'd just be more of the same, a continuation of Shrek without Shrek.

While it does have the same look, the trailer was MUCH better than we expected! It even had us chuckling a bit — we hope they keep up with reminding us that regardless of his skills, he's still just a cat — especially during the "shot of milk" scene and the "light reflection" part!

We're actually looking forward to it now!

So ch-ch-check it out, guys, and let us know if U wanna see it too!

No More Shrek For Eddie Murphy!

Well, that's the end of that, we suppose!

Regardless of whether or not they'll be another Shrek film down the line, it appears that Eddie Murphy's involvement in the franchise, as the voice of the comedic sidekick, Donkey, is finished!

The actor revealed last night in Beverly Hills:

"No more Shrek…I'm Shrek'd out!"

Ha! Can't say we blame him!

He gave it a good run, though!

Here's hoping that they don't try to continue the movies without the original voice actors, though!

Personally, we think four is QUITE enough!

What do U think?? Do U want to see more Shrek??
