It took him a little longer than other American Idol alumni (even the one who was eliminated before him), but Casey Abrams just got signed to a record deal!

The season 10 contestant can now celebrate with Idol winner Scott McCreery, runner-up Lauren Alaina, James Durbin, Haley Reinhart and Pia Toscano, all who got deals before him.

It's pretty shocking it took this long, but

Amazing!!!

A Doctor Who signed script and suit worn by actor Matt Smith is up for auction on Ebay for the UK charity Children in Need - and so far, the items are going for £50,000!!!

Other celebs like Coldplay and Lady GaGa have already lent their support for the organization, which has already raised $42 million.

That's so incredible, and it's such a good cause!

If you're a huge Doctor Who fan, than this is definitely the auction for you. Here's what you get:

"The team at Doctor Who have kindly donated the Doctor’s costume, as worn by Matt Smith, in the episodes 'The Doctor’s Wife' and 'Night Terrors.' This includes his tweed jacket, jeans, shirt, boots, braces, watch and – of course – bow tie. The winner will also get a special signed script."

And the script you'll be getting was written by Neil Gaiman, which doubles the geek coolness factor.

You only have a few hours left so if you're interested in bidding, CLICK HERE.

President Obama's 1996 Stance On Gay Rights

Filed under: Gay Gay GayPolitikBarack ObamaSad Sad

barack-obamas-1996-stance-on-gay-rights

Now that his previously-stated stances are out in the open, we think that he's definitely going to have some serious explaining to do!

Check out above a signed statement from President Barack Obama, from 1996 (above) in which he adamantly shows his support of not only gay marriage, but also funding for the treatment and prevention of HIV/AIDS, as well as the right for same-sex couples to adopt!

Those points include:

I would support and co-sponsor a state civil rights bill for gays and lesbians.

I do not favor a statewide registry of names of people who test positive for HIV.

I favor an increase in funding for state AIDS services.

I favor more aggressive (and better funded) prevention programs, particularly targeted at young people and minority communities where infection rates continue to increase.

I favor mandatory Medicaid coverage for persons with HIV/AIDS.

I favor legalizing same-sex marriage, and would fight efforts to prohibit such marriage.

I believe in the rights of gays and lesbians to become foster parents, adopt children and have the right to custody of their own children on the same basis of heterosexuals.

I support a woman's right to choose an abortion, favor Medicaid funding of abortions for poor women, and opppose parental notification laws.

I vigorously support existing affirmative action programs.

Wow.

It's just so disappointing to us that politics could get in the way of what someone believes, especially when that someone could really help progress this country toward the equal rights that everyone deserves.

Sad.

It's Official! President Obama Repeals 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell!'

president-obama-repeals-dont-ask-dont-tell

This is truly a day to be remembered!

At 9:35am this morning, President Barack Obama signed the 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' repeal bill into law in front of about 500 invitees, including many LGBT veterans, like Lt. Dan Choi, who were discharged due to the RIDICULOUS policy!

The President reportedly spoke for about 20 minutes prior to the signing, and his sentiments are best summed up by these poignant, true words:

“We are not a nation that says don’t ask, don’t tell. We are a nation that says, out of many, we are one. You are not the first to have to endure this, but you are the last.”

We cannot even BEGIN to tell you how absolutely ELATED and PROUD we feel on behalf of this country and its leaders!

It was a long, seemingly unnecessary fight filled with heartbreak and frustration, but progress is FINALLY on its way! We can only keep moving forward now, and we are confident that we will!

EQUAL RIGHTS FOR ALL!!
