If you're a fan of scary movies, you've undoubtedly seen the trailer for May's Slender Man.

The upcoming horror flick has already attracted controversy because of the true story of two 12-year-old girls who stabbed their friend in the name of the Internet boogeyman.

The true story may be even creepier than the movie, as one of the young girls told police it "was weird that I didn't feel remorse." *shudder*

But this isn't the first movie tied to real life! See some of the true stories that are stranger — and scarier — than fiction (below)!

Father Of Real-Life Slender Man Attacker Not Happy About Movie!

no title

Hundreds of thousands of horror movie fans got terrified by the first trailer for the Slender Man movie on Wednesday. But one man isn't scared — he's pissed.

In case you've never heard the story of the real-life crime inspired by the CreepyPasta-created boogeyman, back in 2014 two 12-year-old girls — Anissa Weier and Morgan Geyser — lured their friend Peyton Leutner to a park and stabbed her 19 times.

They admitted the crime to police but explained they had to kill her to protect their families from the Slender Man. Spooky stuff.

Now Bill Weier, father of Anissa, has told the Associated Press he thinks the movie is in "extreme poor taste" given what his and other families went through. Weier hopes local Wisconsin theaters will refuse to screen it when it comes out on May 18.

Sony has yet to respond publicly to his complaints. It's unclear if the film will resemble the real case at all; though the trailer does feature a shot (above) which shows a wall covered in drawings that look very much like those made by Geyser.

What do YOU think?

Now, years after two 12-year-old girls lured a friend into the woods and attempted to stab her to death in Slender Man's name, the faceless figure in a black suit will be haunting the big screen!

Sony's Screen Gems dropped the first trailer for Slender Man on Wednesday, which promises to unsettle audiences as much as the man himself when it opens on May 18.

What the trailer lacks in footage of the mythical creeper it makes up for with *disturbing* visuals — from shots that look like they were edited out of Samara's Ring VHS to teens stabbing themselves in the face. Slender Man has it all!

American Horror Story Tackling The Slender Man Next? Get The Skinny On Next Season PLUS 6 More Terrifying Urban Legends That Could Appear!

After a Hotel, a Freakshow, a Coven, an Asylum, and a Murder House — we were nervous there wasn't any uncharted territory left for Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk to scare us with for the next season of American Horror Story!

But we were wrong, because according to the latest reports, the FX horror anthology's sixth season will likely focus on Slender Man, a paranormal suit-wearing figure — who started as internet folklore in 2009 — that preys on young children!

According to an inside source:

"Someone else wrote the script, and AHS wants to adapt it to fit the show. They have to buy the rights. Then they're going to figure out the cast from there."

And it looks like new AHS favorite and Golden Globe winner Lady GaGa could be back for seconds! The source adds:

"They're trying really hard to get her back!"

This premise sounds creepy af! We would LOVE if the next season focused all on urban legends — there certainly would be plenty of gruesome material to choose from…
