It's a bird! It's a plane! It's… Amy Adams? Ian Somerhalder?!

They were on Smallville?!

Devoted fans of the Red-Blue Blur remember this day in 2001 as the day that Tom Welling first became Clark Kent on the small screen. Smallville would go from that day to run for 216 episodes and ten seasons, coming to an end finally on May 13, 2011.

Ten years is a pretty long time and today, on the 12th anniversary of the pilot airing, we thought die hard fans would like to relive some of the forgotten moments of the show. Many of you will be extremely surprised to learn that a lot of famous faces found their way onto the show over the years, and many others ALMOST could've landed coveted roles!

So if you feel the need to go up, up, and away, then we urge you too…

It's a bird! It's a plane! It's an aging CW star!

Never you mind that; he’s still gorgeous!

Tom Welling hit up Hakkasan Las Vegas nightclub’s grand opening Saturday at the MGM Grand Hotel. The former Smallville actor strutted his beautiful mug down the GQ Magazine red carpet, and while he looked AH-mazing, we have to admit, we miss the Clark Kent hair!

Even if your formerly shiny black mane is now erring on the salt ‘n’ pepper side, don’t feel the need to discriminate, Tom!

Let it grooowwww!
