Man Caught Trying To Sneak 247 Reptiles Onto A Plane

snakes-on-aplane-caught-cze.jpg

Seriously.

A Czech man was caught in Argentina when he tried to board a plane with a suitcase full of live animals.

He had 247 lizards, snakes and mollusks.

The man was caught during the x-ray scan when technicians noticed "organic substances" moving around inside the bag.

When they opened it, they found the hundreds of reptiles, nine of which were poisonous species, packed into clear plastic containers.

Some of the animals were extremely rare and protected under certain acts.

It's good that officials found them in the x-ray scan because two died of lack of oxygen and it's assumed many more would have died during the flight.

Authorities believe the attempted smuggling was in connection with an exotic species smuggling ring.

The man could face up to ten years in prison!

That's what you get for trying to bring motherf*$%in' snakes on a motherf*$%in' plane!

LOLz!

Dogs Smuggled For Slaughter Are Rescued By Thai Authorities

Filed under: Sad SadAnimal RightsDogRescueAnimal Cruelty

It's so sad to see these dogs being treated and held in such deplorable conditions.

Over a thousand dogs were rescued by Thai authorities after four trucks filled with cages of dogs were stopped in the Nakhon Phanom province of Thailand.

The dogs were to be sent across a Laos river and into Vietnam to be slaughtered and sold for dog meat.

Out of the thousands of dogs, 119 were already dead either from suffocation or from being thrown into the trucks by the alleged traffickers.

Police arrested two Thai men and a Vietnamese man - both have been charged with trafficking and illegally transporting animals. They face a maximum punishment of one year in jail and a fine of up to $670.

Traffickers round up stray dogs around rural Thai villages and sell them for up to $33 per dog in Vietnam where they are "destined to be cooked and eaten."

Thankfully, these lucky few were rescued.

6 Orphaned Gorilla Baby

Anyone want a gorilla?

Two African governments are working together to try to find homes for 6 orphaned baby gorillas. The baby gorillas had been stolen by poachers.

The Mountain Gorillas are between the ages of 5 and 8. They were smuggled out of the Democratic Republic of Congo into Rwanda. Authorities believe they were going to be sold by unknown buyers. They also believe the gorillas' parents were killed.

The gorillas were rescued by Rwandan authorities, treated by doctors and then flown to a new gorilla rescue center where they will be introduced to other rescued gorillas.

Eventually they will be released back into the wild.
