The era of the Soap Opera may soon be over!
Iconic tv shows One Life to Live and All My Children moved from network television to online-only viewing earlier this year in an attempt to combat cancellation…
But it seems the plan is not working out too well, as both shows' parent company Prospect Park is cutting down new episodes aired posted per week from 4 to 2!
Could this mean the death of both beloved Soap Operas is right around the corner? Well, perhaps not!
The reasoning behind the episode elimination is actually quite clever, as Prospect Park heads Rich Frank and Jeff Kwatinetz revealed in a statement:

It's official, folks!
After it was announced that All My Children and One Life to Live were leaving television airwaves for good, production company Prospect Park revealed the shows would be gracing Hulu and iTunes platforms on April 29.
All My Children has begun production, and One Life to Live is set to start next week.
Prospect Park’s partners, Jeff Kwatinetz and Rich Frank, said in a statement:

It looks like you only thought your favorite soap opera was dead!
It turns out, it only hit its head and fell into a coma and awoke with amnesia! But now they're back!!!
ABC cancelled them back in 2011, but now One Life to Live (the original YOLO) and All My Children are returning to TV! Well, Internet TV anyway! Both series will air on The Online Network!
Prospect Park will begin production in February on both soaps, with their common creator Agnes Dixon consulting. In a statement, Park execs said:

The nice thing about soap operas is that nothing is impossible. Really! What other genre of television can get away with so much sex, crime, serial killings, incest, time-travel, traveling through paintings, cloning, etc.?! Seriously — anything goes!
Which is why

Agnes Nixon confirms the big finale of All My Children will leave people with A LOT of questions!
Now, usually something like this would piss fans off, but unlike Twin Peaks, diehard fans will be able to come back after a three month hiatus to follow the story.

After years and years of separation, Sarah Michelle Gellar is finally going back home to Pine Valley.
The news of the All My Children's cancellation hit her hard. Sarah had played Susan Lucci's daughter, Kendall, for so many years before making it in Hollywood, so the show will always hold a special place in her heart.
Unfortunately, fans won't be seeing her play the cold Kendall:
