When asked about being half black, the songstress said:

"I'm half black. My dad managed a car dealership, wore a suit to work, had a nice watch, was always clean-shaven, handsome, played golf on the weekends. And people would come up to him like, 'Yo, brotha! What's up!' And my dad would be like, 'Hi.…'"

But for her personally, the Colors singer found it tricky to navigate at times:

Bachelor In Paradise Finally Addresses The Corinne Olympios & DeMario Jackson Drama — Race 'Absolutely' Played A Part

DeMario Jackson and Corinne Olympios

What an important conversation.

On night two of the Bachelor in Paradise premiere on Tuesday, ABC showed some of the story between DeMario Jackson and Corinne Olympios before the controversial hookup — but more interestingly, Chris Harrison sat down with the cast for a discussion about race, sexual consent, and whether or not the show should resume.

It's not every day these conversations pop up on reality TV, but we're still curious to know if this was just a desperate attempt for Warner Bros. to prove they aren't liable.

ANYWAY, we'll let you be the judge.

Obviously, this all comes after violence erupted in Charlottesville over the weekend over the removal of the city's monument of Lee — a rally which tragically took the life of 32-year-old Heather Heyer, who died after a white supremacist plowed his car into a crowd of counter-protestors.

Pugh said of her decision to act fast:
