9-Year-Old Girl Sobs While Addressing Racism & Police Shootings At Charlotte City Council: 'We Are Black People & We Shouldn't Have To Feel Like This'

Zianna Oliphant may be little, but she's got a big voice and a powerful message.

In the wake of Keith Lamont Scott's controversial killing at the hands of a plainclothes officer with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, people took to the streets to protest.

And, on Monday, Charlotte City Council held its first meeting since the demonstrations erupted.

During the meeting, 9-year-old Zianna stood behind the podium, emotionally addressing racism and police shootings before the council, saying:

"I came here today to talk about how I feel, and I feel like we are treated differently than other people. And, I don't like how we're treated just because of our color. Doesn't mean anything to me."

The little girl began to break down, and exclaimed, with tears streaming down her face:

"We are black people and we shouldn't have to feel like this. We shouldn't have to protest because y'all are treating us wrong. We do this because we need to, and have rights."

Through her tears, the inspiring youngster composed herself, and continued:

Props to Serena Williams for speaking up!

In a fierce Facebook message on Tuesday, Serena spoke out on a very pressing issue facing America right now — the #BlackLivesMatter movement.

The powerful message couldn't have come at a better time in light of the recent police brutality against African Americans. It's absolutely crazy ANOTHER unarmed black man was killed by a police officer just last week.

Touching on the recent rash of violence, Ms. Williams shared an anecdote about driving around with her 18-year-old nephew. The tennis star noted how the outing brought up fears she has about her nephew's safety considering he's a young black man in America.

Mary J. Blige's Sit-Down With Hillary Clinton Is As Poignant As It Is Awkward…

no title

You'd think putting two icons together would yield better results…

While Hillary Clinton was the clear winner of Monday night's Presidential debate, the Clinton campaign suffered a bit of a setback almost immediately after on Tuesday.

That's because Apple dropped a surprise teaser for a sit-down interview between the Democratic candidate and Mary J. Blige… to less than stellar reception.

Apparently, Mary J.'s new talk show The 411 – named after her debut studio album What's the 411? – premieres this Friday, and HRC herself will be the very first guest!

Unfortunately, the teaser doesn't do Mary's message about police brutality and racism any justice, because she's just awkwardly singing at Hillary for pretty much the entire time.

While we couldn't support the message more… belting full volume at someone sitting right across from you is just odd, no matter how many Grammys you have. (Nine. She has nine.)

Still, you know we'll be tuning in when The 411 premieres Friday, September 30 on Apple Music!

Charlotte Police Officer Didn't Activate Body Camera Until AFTER Keith Lamont Scott Was Shot

no title

**WARNING: Graphic Details/Video Ahead**

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department probably thought it would help their argument to release body camera footage from the fatal shooting of Keith Lamont Scott, but it actually proved an officer violated policy.

Over the weekend, CMPD released video from one dashboard camera and one body camera from the controversial killing.

In the body cam clip, we silently see an officer standing outside Keith's white SUV with his gun drawn. Then, the officer wearing the camera appears to be hitting the truck with his baton.

We see Mr. Scott getting out of his car as the body cam cop runs across the street — with his own weapon drawn — to take cover behind a white pickup truck.

The fatal shots are fired off-camera, and the audio doesn't turn on until the footage shows the 43-year-old already on the ground.

But, as The Washington Post revealed, the officer didn't officially activate the camera until AFTER the father was shot. Steve Tuttle, a spokesman for Taser (the company who made the department's tech), explained how the equipment works, saying:
