If we've learned anything this past week it's that Tom Cruise is kind of a big deal overseas!

First he took the russian social media website, Vkontakte, by storm. Then, he was absolutely mobbed by a ton of fans after landing in Beunos Aires, Argentina!

In the latest stop on his quest for global domination, Tom took his talents to Rio and whaddya know? The brazilians LOVED him!

The Mission Impossible actor continued his South American tour to promote his upcoming sci-fi flick, Oblivion. In a scene that's becoming all too familiar to us, Tom was swarmed by supporters and he was kind enough to snap a couple of pics and sign some autographs for a few lucky fans!

Isn't that nice!!

Tom's next stop on his tour is Russia, where, as we mentioned before he already has a pretty big following.

At this rate, it looks like he'll be emperor of the world in no time! LOLz!!

It’s always great to see celebrities interact with their fans through social media websites like Twitter and Facebook, and Tom Cruise is breaking new ground as the first celebrity to join Vkontakte.

If you’ve never heard of the website, you’re definitely not alone! VK.com is essentially the Russian equivalent of Facebook and has a nearly identical layout.

We’re not sure that we’ll be seeing many celebrities jumping on this bandwagon, but so far it’s been working out for Tom who already has over 63,000 followers since joining last week!

Looks like Russia loves them some Stacee Jaxx!

The Rock of Ages star and “TeamTC” have mainly been using the site to promote his upcoming film Oblivion, but they have also taken the time to thank fans for the warm welcome with posts saying:

Did you even know that Akon tried to make a social media website?? It's true!

The whole thing has been awful for everyone, especially Akon. The website didn't work out AT ALL, and now a company that worked on it is taking him to court! They're suing him for $127,000!!!

DAMN!

Atlanta Business Video (least creative business name ever) was hired in 2011 to cut video for "Fantrace" but didn't get paid — and it's management like that that's probably the reason why the site failed! It was supposed to be a place where fans could interact with their favorite celebrities, but didn't quite make it work.

The company claims they put in 1,023 hours of work, but never received compensation!!

Of course, there's always a chance that the check got lost in the mail or something… or maybe they're just trying to rip Akon off! It doesn't sound like it though, so we hope Akon pays up!
