Facebook May Become A Publicly Traded Company VERY Soon

Ready to invest in Facebook?

Want some stock in Facebook?

With a valuation of $100 billion, insiders say the world's most famous social network may be going public as soon as the first quarter of next year.

Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg said last month that a Facebook IPO (initial public offering) was "inevitable", although the company has not confirmed or denied her statement.

The company is approaching 500 investors, but once it crosses that barrier Facebook will have to report quarterly financial data in order to comply with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Sources are saying that the management is thinking the company might as well become publicly traded at that point.

The IPO may benefit employees too. Instead of raises in salary, employees being rewarded for their hard work may soon be receiving stock in the company whose growth doesn't show any signs of slowing down anytime soon!

If Facebook goes public, will you be investing in any stock?

Sarah Silverman's Good Wife Role Revealed!

So much for the HIGHlarity - this sounds like it might be pretty serious!

We reported yesterday that Sarah Silverman had signed on for a then-unspecified role on the CBS drama The Good Wife, and now we're getting the details from her character - and it seems as though the inspiration for her has been ripped straight from real life!

According to reports, the usually funny lady will appear in the 22nd episode this season as Stephanie, who owns a controversial website called AshleyMadison.com that sets up affairs for married users! She'll be brought to trial when a man's death is caused by an affair started through the page!

So serious! But pretty inneresting!

We're also not going to lie - we're pretty curious to see play a character straight!

Sounds a little bit like Kathy Griffin's dramatic turn on Law & Order: SVU - and that actually went well for her!

Here's hoping it can go the same for Sarah! Best of luck, gurl!

Mark Zuckerberg Talks Facebook E-Mail Addresses!

All right…here we go. Another 'upgrade.'

Facebook users will soon be getting their own e-mail accounts on the social networking site, and CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently opened up about the development, and what exactly the changes will entail!

He explains that Facebook will have three new features, described as "the way the future should work."

These include 'seamless messaging,' which lets users chat with people through SMS, e-mail, or IM; conversation history, which will let a user "see everything you've discussed with friends as a single conversation;" and a social inbox for "filtering exactly the messages you want to see."

He continues:

"This is not an email killer. This is a messaging system that includes email as one part of it. You decide how you want to talk to your friends: via SMS, chat, email or Messages. They will receive your message through whatever medium or device is convenient for them, and you can both have a conversation in real time. We don't think modern messaging system will be email."

This is pretty intense. And we don't really get it.

But we imagine that once it's employed - which will be via invite-only throughout the upcoming months - it will be a little more comprehensible!

Oh, how we long for the days when Facebook was just for college students and its newest option was to 'poke' other users.

Ha!

What do U think?? Do U want a Facebook e-mail address??

The Social Network Is Still #1!

web-the-social-network__opt.jpg

Whoa, this movie is still going strong!

The Social Network barely dropped in its second weekend at the box office, making $15.9 million. It is the "best hold for a 2nd weekend of any #1 opening this year." And that's including this year's hit, Inception!

Second place went to Life As We Know It, which is probably the highest this movie is going to get. Aren't we all a little tired of Katherine Heigl's rom-coms by now???

Secretariat came in #3, followed by the owl movie, Legends of the Guardian, and Wes Craven's My Soul To Take 3D to round out the top 5.

Facebook Movie Social Network Is #1!

web-the-social-network__opt.jpg

The movie about Facebook, Social Network, topped the box office this weekend, making roughly $23 million at the domestic box office.

That's pretty good for a movie without any A-list actors, however the film itself has been getting rave reviews. The movie stars Jesse Eisenberg, serious actor Justin Timberlake, and a name you'll be very familiar with in the coming months, newly-casted Spider-Man, Andrew Garfield. The movie was written by Aaron Sorkin and David Fincher.

The animated owl movie, Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole came in second with $10.9 million.

Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps took the third place spot with $10.9 million. The film was expected to come into second place.

Both Ben Affleck's The Town and Emma Stone's Easy A remained strong, coming in fourth and fifth places.
