P!nk paid tribute to The Wizard Of Oz in MULTIPLE ways tonight!
She not only sang an incredible rendition of Somewhere Over The Rainbow on the Oscars stage, she also wore a Dorothy-worthy look!
The stunning singer rocked a deep-V Elie Saab gown that was covered in sparkling embellishments, and with the way it shimmered in the light we'd be surprised if the dress wasn't inspired by Dorothy's famed red slippers themselves!!
What a perfect pairing for her performance.
And extra props for the massive display of cleavage!
It's been a month since Sandy Hook Elementary suffered their horrific tragedy, which left 20 kids and six adults dead… and to pay a tribute to the fallen angels, the students recorded Judy Garland's Somewhere Over The Rainbow.
Oh, 1985! The year of big hair, laser light shows, and the beginning of the fabulous Céline!
Check out the above clip of Mz. Dion singing the classic tune Somewhere Over The Rainbow from a television spot back in 1985. It was her first time performing in English! And as always, her voice was flawless!
If we had watched this clip back then, pretty sure we would have been able to predict that she would be an international mega star almost 30 years later.
We told you about it yesterday. Now watch it here today!
On Monday evening, following her huge win at the CFDA's, Lady GaGawas serenaded by Miz Patti LaBelle with a soulful version of Somewhere Over The Rainbow! What we didn't know was that GaGa actually joined LaBelle during the end of her performance to belt out a few bars alongside the legend!
As you can imagine, it's glorious!
Check out the video (above) to see for yourself as we continue to kick ourselves for not being there!
While James Franco has been the recipient of most of the criticism regarding this year's Academy Awards, Bravo's Andy Cohen has instead chosen to lash out the PS 22 Chorus' performance of Somewhere Over The Rainbow at the end of the ceremony!
"There was a thing called ‘Up With People’ in the ’70s or ’80s. … Oscar night is not about 'Up With People.' Like, I don’t need to see that. It was just bad. It was just awful. It was horrible. A public school chorus singing Somewhere Over The Rainbow? I literally, if I wasn’t going to go out to some parties, I would have slit them right then. It was the worst. I was looking for a knife to stick in my eyes. It was so terrible. Not the time. Everything has its time and place; the end of the Oscars? We don't want to see this. You just ruined everything."
Wow. Just so uncalled for and waaay too far!
You didn't have to like it, but there is NO need to be this cruel to a group of children!
ESPECIALLY when your idea of a musical performance is having Kim Zolciak or Danielle Staub croak out whatever auto-tuned abomination they've decided to curse the world with on Watch What Happens!
