MGM And Sony Working On Distribution Deal For Bond 23

mgm and sony in distribution talks over bond

So…is Bond back or isn't he?

Last month, we learned that the new Bond film had been given a release date of Nov 9 2012, yet it appears that MGM is still trying to secure a distribution deal for the film.

Sources say that MGM had previously been talking to Paramount about distribution, but when things didn't work out, they moved on to Sony Pictures, and are now close to securing a deal there.

Looks like the Nov 9 2012 release date for Bond 23 stands. Hopefully they're able to figure out everything asap so they can continue moving forward with the project.

And while you're at it, MGM, why don't you sign a deal with Javier Bardem as well! He'd make a GREAT bad guy!!!

Smart move!

We bet there are a lot of people who missed it the first time around and want to see it on the big screen!

Due to its overwhelming critical and commercial success, The Social Network is being prepped for a theatrical re-release on January 7th in about 600 theaters all over the country - just days before its debut on DVD January 11th!

Jeff Blake, Sony Pictures' chairman of Worldwide Marketing and Distribution, explains:

“At the box office, this film showed true staying power, grossing more than four times its opening weekend gross – a rare accomplishment when the average for wide releases last year was below three times its opening weekend gross."

Wow!

That IS impressive!

We definitely think it deserves a second round in theaters!

What do U think?? Will U be seeing The Social Network again, or will U just wait for the DVD?

Channing Tatum In The Running For 21 Jump Street!

channing-tatum-in-the-running-with-jonah-hill-for-21-jump-street

There's not too many men that could compete with Johnny Depp's seksiness, but we think they may have found one!

Channing Tatum is reportedly in the running for the lead role in Sony Pictures' film reboot of the '80s series 21 Jump Street, alongside Jonah Hill!

According to sources, the studio has met with a plethora of potentials, but they especially liked the pairing of Tatum and Hill together as undercover officers working against crime in high schools.

We do, too!

We've yet to really see Tatum take on a comedic role, but we think he has a lot of potential! Maybe this reboot won't completely suck!

What do U think?? Do U like Tatum and Hill for the movie??

Epicness! James Cameron In Talks To Direct Angelina Jolie In Cleopatra

james cameron in talks to direct angelina jolie in new cleopatra film

We would love to see this combination! Although would they do this in 3D?

Sources have confirmed that Avatar and Titanic director James Cameron is currently in early talks with Sony Pictures about the possibility of directing Angelina Jolie in Cleopatra.

The script is based on Stacy Schiff's book Cleopatra: A Life, and it's being written by Brian Helgeland, whose last epic feature script was Russell Crowe's Robin Hood.

The film is being produced by Scott Rudin, who recently produced everything The Social Network.

Quite the team behind this one! We'll be keeping our ears open for updates.

How do U feel about the possibly of James Cameron directing Cleopatra? Do U think he could make this better than Avatar?

Decisions, Decisions! Who Will Play The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo???

12girl_dragon_tattoo.jpg

It's starting to become one of the most coveted roles in young Hollywood!

With a December 2011 release date set and a lot of pressure to not be shitty, Sony Pictures has to light a fire under it's production of their adapation of the mystery novel The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. The biggest hurdle to date seems to be which young actress will step into the shoes of the book's most coveted character, Lisbeth Salander.

As of now, there are a lot of names being thrown around, from Ellen Page to Mia Wasikowska, from Carey Mulligan to Kristen Stewart. (Ugh! Her again!?)

Competition is steep and as of now, there is no front runner, but if they want to make that 2011 deadline, somebody better pick one!

Our choice: Carey Mulligan… or really anyone else beside KStew!

Who would U like to see in the role?
