Chris Cornell Reportedly Had Fresh Track Marks In His Arm When He Died

Wow, this is pretty shocking to hear.

It was one thing to hear an engineer say Chris Cornell seemed "fucked up" during his final performance; there are lots of explanations for that.

But this latest evidence could only mean the Soundgarden frontman had relapsed in his long battle with substance abuse.

Video: Norah Jones Channels Chris Cornell In The Last Place He Ever Played

Sources connected to the investigation have now told TMZ they saw fresh track marks on the body. The marks, which indicate recent injections, were apparently "obvious."

Chris had battled addiction since first getting hooked on heroin at only 13 years old.

So sad to hear he may have lost the fight.

We'll obviously know for sure once toxicology reports come out in the full autopsy.

Chris Cornell was a rock god, so it's no surprise we've heard a lot of musical tributes from that world.

But this is one we didn't expect.

Norah Jones transformed the Soundgarden hit Black Hole Sun into a stripped down, bluesy piano dirge, and it is simply haunting.

Oh yeah, Norah was performing Tuesday night at the Fox Theatre in Detroit — the same venue where Chris performed for the last time the night he died.

Like we said, haunting.

Ch-ch-check out the beautiful tribute (below)!
