Charleston Church Shooter Dylann Roof Says He'll Do Nothing To Prevent Getting Sentenced To The Death Penalty
It's been two weeks since Dylann Roof was found guilty on all charges against him after murdering nine people at a historically black church in Charleston, and yet the case continues to cause confusion.
That's because at his South Carolina hearing on Wednesday, the 22-year-old white supremacist made it clear to the court he has no intention of challenging his death penalty ruling!
Essentially, Dylann — who is notoriously representing himself — told U.S. District Judge Richard Gergel that he does not plan on using evidence or any witnesses to help his case. Instead, his only request was that prosecutors not be allowed to use some of their evidence against him, although it's currently unclear exactly what he was referring to.
With that said, Dylann has until opening statements next Tuesday to reappoint his attorney(s)… but it's sounding like he may actually want the death penalty at this point.
Why else would he be actively sabotaging his own arguments??
Regardless, we just hope the nine innocent victims and their families get justice in the end.
