South Carolina Lawmakers Officially Ban The Confederate Flag At The Capitol!

This flag won't be flying for too much longer!

Earlier this week, it was reported that South Carolina's state senate voted to remove the Confederate flag from the state Capitol grounds.

On Thursday, the House approved the historic Senate bill in a 93-27 vote! The bill will now head to Republican Governor Nikki Haley to sign into law.

We don't know the exact timing of the flag removal, but it could come down as early as Friday!

The proposal to remove the flag was a result of last month's racially-charged shootings at Charleston's Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church, where nine black people were killed.

While supporters of the flag associate it with Southern pride, opposers say it is a symbol of support for slavery and racism.

We think it's great that South Carolina is willing to make a change in the right direction. Hopefully other states in the south follow suit and make a stand for unity!

Two Parents In South Carolina Made Their 14-Year-Old Daughter Live In The Woods For 2 Days Just For Eating A Pop Tart…

This cannot be real.

Two parents in South Carolina deserve an award for how terribly disgusting they just treated their child.

James and Crystal Driggers of Sumter County, SC were arrested over the weekend after forcing their 14-year-old daughter to live in a tent after she ate a Pop Tart without asking first…

The parents-of-the-year punished their completely out of line daughter with a week of being grounded in the middle of the woods with nothing but a tent, some toilet paper, a flashlight, a whistle, and a watch.

The teenager was first locked outdoors last Tuesday and was fed only a can of Spaghetti-Os thanks to her brother.

Luckily, the teen's grandmother heard about the way she was being treated and called Police on Thursday and she was returned home.

However, when the Police went back for a follow up on Friday, they discovered she was outside. Again.

South Carolina's Senate Takes A Step Towards Banning The Confederate Flag At The Capitol!

South Carolina senate votes to remove the Confederate flag.

South Carolina's state senate made a big move on Monday, getting one step closer to banning the Confederate flag from their Capitol.

In a landslide decision, the senate voted 37-3 to take it down. But, the fight isn't over quite yet.

[ Video: This Woman Climbs A Flag Pole To Take Down A Confederate Flag! ]

Before the flag can officially be lowered, the Senate has to vote one more time, and then the bill has to go to the South Carolina House.

The proposal to remove the it came as a result of last month's devastating shooting at Charleston's Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church, where nine black people were shot to death because of racist beliefs.

South Carolina governor Nikki Haley is thrilled that the Senate stepped up to bring down the banner, saying in a statement:

"The South Carolina Senate today rose to this historic occasion, with a large majority of members from both parties coming together in the spirit of unity and healing that is binding our state back together and moving us forward in the right direction."

But even with the governor backing the decision, there's a possibility the House might not vote the same way as the Senate.

So, Nikki pleaded with her state's other political institution to follow suit:

"I applaud the Senate's decisive action, look forward to the Senate giving the bill third reading in the morning, and ask that the House act swiftly and follow the Senate's lead."

The Senate won't be convening again until Tuesday, but we really hope all the necessary votes go through to make this change happen!

Looks like them Duke boys are in a heap of trouble! It's been reported that TV Land has dropped The Dukes of Hazzard from its schedule completely!

The network had previously been airing the iconic series — which starred John Schneider, Tom Wopat, and Catherine Bach as mischievous cousins in Hazzard County, Georgia — twice a day.

While TV Land hasn't revealed why it decided to drop the show from its broadcast, we're pretty sure the choice has something to do with the boys' getaway car, the iconic General Lee — which has a Confederate flag noticeably displayed on its roof!

The Confederate flag has been the subject of extreme controversy after last month's racially motivated shootings that took place at a Charleston, South Carolina church.

TV Land's move isn't surprising — huge retailers like Walmart and Amazon recently announced that they would stop selling all merchandise related to the Confederate flag.

Is TV Land being overly sensitive or did they make the right decision to drop the program? SOUND OFF in the comments!
