Clone Your Dog For The Low, Low Price Of $50,000

A woman shared a bond, that not many pet owners do, with her dog Trouble.

She has a giant picture of his face covering an entire wall, and the same huge photo on a large comforter on her bed.

So it's safe to say she was devastated when Trouble died.

So instead of grieving then moving on with her life, she went to South Korea and paid $50,000 to have him cloned.

Check out her story on Anderson in the above vid.

South Korea Clones Coyotes

Coyote

Hwang Woo-suk is a disgraced scientist. His "breakthrough" human cloning researcher in 2005 was found to be completely faked.

He may have finally redeemed himself.

He and his team in South Korea are claiming to have been the first team to clone coyotes.

They say they are going to raise the coyotes but eventually donate them to zoos around the world.

Why don't you send one our way? We want a "clonote." LOLz!

Animal Rights Group Protests Against Dog And Cat Meat In South Korea

dog-meat-protest.jpg

Animal rights activists protested against the consumption of dog and cat meat in front of the Korean consulate in San Francisco Tuesday morning.

Even though it's illegal to eat dogs and cats in South Korea, the government has NOT been strict enough in enforcing the laws, allowing the antiquated practice to continue in the country. In Defense of Animals Campaign Manager Robin Dorman says "the law is deliberately obscure."

Dog meat is used in a summer stew, which is why protestors feel the need to get the word out immediately. The sad part is that, according to Dorman, "according to South Korean activists, that the more a dog is tortured, the better the taste."

Ugh. That's terrible.

Thankfully there has been some progress, however.

A major annual festival at the infamous outdoor market near Seoul called the Moran Market was canceled this year due to pressure, both domestically and internationally, because it's the place where a majority of Korea's dog meat is sold.

We can't even imagine one of our pets ending up on our plates.

Hopefully with word getting out, the consumption of dog and cat meat will soon be illegal in every country.

South Korean Scientists Made Glowing Puppy!

South Korean Scientists Made Glowing Puppy!

Holy Shiz!!

South Korean scientists said on Wednesday they have created a glowing dog using cloning!

But why does the world need a glowing baby beagle, you ask? Apparently the technique they used to clone the that could help find cures for human diseases such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's.

The researchers, who completed a two-year test, said the ability to glow can be turned on or off by adding a drug to the dog's food.

"The creation of Tegon opens new horizons since the gene injected to make the dog glow can be substituted with genes that trigger fatal human diseases,"

the news agency quoted lead researcher as saying.

He said the dog was created using the somethin' called somatic cell nuclear transfer technology. The same stuff that the university team used to make the world's first cloned dog, Snuppy, in 2005.

South Korea Bans Fur From Fendi's Fashion Show

Fendi AND Lindsey

Animal rights protesters won South Korea! (Sorry Lindsay)

The country's capital city has told Italian fashion house Fendi to remove all fur items from a show of its Fall/Winter collection due to complaints from animal rights groups, officials said Monday.

A spokesman for the city government said:

"We have received complaints from animal rights activists and saw negative public opinion on the Internet… we can't let such a controversial thing be staged at a public property."

The Italian firm said city officials last week threatened to cancel the event unless all fur items were removed from the catwalk.

Fendi's statement said the design house had difficulty understanding the decision and had spent months preparing. It added it would continue negotiations.
